Everybody in R.I. knows about the great food at twin oaks. but the drinks are sensational. At least you don't get watered down drinks like other places. They don't skimp on the dr...

After waiting for three hours for a table (after the receptionist had cleverly allowed personal friends to get in ahead of us) we finally sat down only to hear the restaurant was ...

Overrated 1/13/2003

The last time I went for a steak at Twin Oaks, I received a blackened, charred brick. I was so disappointed and have not been back for dinner since! The appetizers, however, are a different story. For drinks and appetizers, this is the place to go, but if you're looking to be wowed by the entree, don't get your hopes up. more

twinchokes overrated 1/2/2003

smokey in the waiting area, food is okay, not great, good pickup joint on weekends, atmosphere stuffy. Cons: parking awful, hard to find more

Twin Oaks Bites 12/25/2002

The MOST overrated restaurant on the planet. Sparcone wannabes greasing smarmy waitstaff to act like the ""who's who"" of the towing company, autobody shop and discount jewelry store set. Here's a neat drinking game if you're ever there. Take a drink every time you hear the phrase ""Yo, Vinny"" - trust me, you'll get plastered. Cons: sparcones, Carvones, Vinny's more

Twin Oaks is a landmark. The food is excellent, the service impressive, the prices great. Long wait on Friday - Sunday but more than worth it. more

graet food, LONG WAIT 8/20/2002

The food is really good, they're right about that. But the wait is rediculous on the weekends, and there isn't a nice palce to wait either, you have to sit in the entrance (sit if you're lucky that is!). If there was a better lounge or something the wait would be much more tolerable. Pros: great food, not too expensive Cons: LONG WAIT more

Go there every visit to RI. My wife Marie Anzelone Wagner, originally from N Providence, and now from San Diego, CA, and I have been married 50 years on Dec 12th next year. Looking forward to going again May or June 2003. Great food and the best steaks. Her folks Al and Stephy Anzelone, from Greenville RI, in their late 80's eat at Twin Oaks too Robert G. OLD SCHOOL COMFORT FOOD 8/12/2002

You feel you're part of the family dining here. Classy Italian with waiters everywhere and portraits on the wall prove this is no chain- making the Olive Garden seem like McDonald's. (Support your local small business and privately owned restaurants!) Baked stuffed shrimp covered with cheese and homemade mashed potatos- now THAT'S Comfort Food!!! Yummy! Pros: everything is good Cons: can be busy more

Just Like Home 7/26/2002

You are a tru Rhode Ilander if you haven't experienced dining at Twin Oaks. Its the only restaurant I've been to, that no matter what I know I'm going to have good food. The Scrod is by far a favorite, and even though I don't eat Shrimp, everyone I know raves about the baked stuffed shrimp. Well, worth every penny I've ever spent there and I will continue to spend on. Pros: Price, Food, Service Cons: Parking, Wait more

excellent beef 7/22/2002

The steak here is in my opinion, the best around. The service is great and so are the quanities of food that is served to you. The only drawback is the wait for a table on the weekends. Pros: food, quanity, service Cons: wait, price, location more
