2 stars because the apartment itself is fine. And there is one lady in the leasing office that seems to know what she is doing. I have been given lease renewal paperwork with incorrect information on it, my rent check was lost and it took an argument and demanding corporate number to clear their mistake up. They call themselves low income, but thats just a cute buzz word. I pay 1115 for a 1bdrm.. pretty sure thats market rate seattle. Im all about a "low barrier" complex, so its not even the other renters here that bother me. I moved to aurora, what did i expect. But i did expect a place approved to be low income to actually help me fairly and not harass me for 2 leases. J cant afford to move out, because this place keeps upping my rent by nearly 75-100 dollars. more

Bad Bad people and customer service 1/18/2016

The building is fairly new and nice location, despite this the staff members are so not professional, From the customer service desk at the front to the back of Mgr. They enjoy harassing and humiliation people and the manager back them up. They refuse to give me the their cooperate office NO.Because i told them i need my complaint to be addressed.I feel very relief when they fired that person. But the person who replace her even worse. I don,t know if they look any experience on customer service before they hire them. I have no choice but to leave in hell since they put a record of noting giving them a 20 days notice while i was looking for another place. If you try to move to this complex well you should be thinking about your rental history when you decide to leave them cause i am sure one day you will. more

No thanks 8/5/2015

I will be here not even a full yr. But they consider it a year in September... Thank God. I moved here last October out of desperation and hoped the place looks as nice as it did on the outside. Looks are deceiving. It is nice inside the unit, but not what low income is. They charge wayyyy too much for it to be considered low income. They tried to rip me off at the beginning of the lease. It took them about 4 to 5 months for them to realize that they were not supposed to charge me as much security as they did. Did I get a credit on the rent?? Nope... Then they change workers like they change seasons. I had 4 different people work on my papers and no one informed that the original person mysteriously "quits" out of nowhere. They don't tell you are not get 100% of your money back, but knowing them, they will try to keep all of your security. That's why I take pics before and after of the place. There once was a time when teenagers were playing on the elevators and getting it stuck like every week, that stopped. I'm afraid to go in stair ways cuz of the shady people. I have several times a homeless person on my floor in the hallway passes out sleeping. Security guards look like a joke and I wouldn't even feel safe with him protecting me. You have young meth heads starting fights with each other in the lounge and all you want to do is watch TV quietly. When you order packages, you better make sure you know the time limit of when it comes or else you don't know when your stuff arrived. You have some punk tall kid who has short patience and yet, he is one of the office workers. They address you personally and not professionally. Addicts break the front lobby doors because they either forget their key or they are not suppose to be there. At one point there was a roach infestation, I mentioned it to them, it took them a month to clean it up. And since October, the garbage chute has been broken. I spoke to the office people again, she claimed she never knew about, yet she has spotted me several times taking out my garbage out the front door. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! HIDE YA WIFE HIDE YA KIDS!!! THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!! more

Welcome to the Hood 10/27/2011

This place absolutely sucks. I kid you not! I have lived at the tressa apartments for a year now and this has been the worst living experience in my entire life. I will not get into the brutal details of things going on here, but they are bad. The leasing agents are rude and disrespectful. There are drug dealers on every floor (the cameras don't help ). Prostitution might as well be legal here! If you have, or plan on having a family, please do not raise them at the tressa apartments. I am only trying to help. Good luck. more

Not recommended 10/18/2011

This apartment complex has many issues. The tenants are a mix of good and bad neighbors, but the bad ones are terrible! This is obviously a problem in many apartment complexes where there are usually at least a few people with no courtesy for others, but it doesn't matter if you complain to the management, there are no consequences for rude, loud, law-breaking tenants at Tressa. The front office is completely incompetent and has no idea what is going on...ever. A water main broke and flooded my apartment while I was out of town. No one bothered to call me or tell me anything so when I came home a couple days later, I had to throw away a number of ruined items. They also lost a package delivered to me and misplaced somewhere in the office. No one working there could help me with either of these matters and I constantly got the run-around. Terrible. more

TRESSA: Seattle's Cabrini Green 8/24/2011

I moved into Tressa 1.5 years ago. Was great at first. Then the staff became so desperate to fill the place they started letting *anyone* move in. Low move-in fees brought all the drunks, drug addicts, thieves, gang members, and prostitutes. Tressa is billed as "subsidized housing," but really it's a racket. The rent is not cheap - its totally average for Seattle. I pay $750 a month for a very small studio apartment. The only subsidy is that the building owners get a tax credit for forcing all the tenants to fill out a ton of paperwork every year...some legal trick for a tax credit. Their marketing ploy to make this place seem like a philanthropic effort is a complete joke. - My next door neighbor the drug dealer had constant screaming fights, and a customer kicked his door in at 3am. I called police. - A few doors down the mother would scream and beat her 4 year old regularly. I called police. - Down the hall officers stood outside an apartment trying to take down a hostage situation - A Tressa security guard came to ME for comfort, telling me how afraid he was to work there (no joke)! - A stranger tried to beat me up in the elevator. - On *several* times, I have walked into the elevator and realized I was standing in puke, or urine, or spilled beer with the beer cans still there. - Someone defecated on the public stairway. The elevator has been out of service now for a month, and no signs of them fixing it. The elevator is broken because of vandalism by TENANTS. - A woman set herself on fire. - There have been several stabbings. - The police know my name because I had to call so much. They told me Tressa is on Seattle's "high crime list". - At one point cars in the garage were being broken into three times a week. Tressa has six floors, and no freight elevator. Think about that in relation to moving in/out. It's a nightmare on its own. I have tried to get out of my lease FOUR times, and nothing works. Move anywhere but here, I don't care how desperate you are. more

HELL..... no other words 8/16/2011

If you have to, find a homeless shelter 6/30/2011

So our lease is almost up. And I cannot wait to get out of here. When we first moved in, it was great. Clean, nice, respectful people. Now, it is a mess. Dirty, rude, and weird people. Second month in, the neighbor down stairs was blasting their music, I mean blasting! Our floor was shaking. Told management. What did they do' They told him it was us. So he came up to confront us. Thanks Tressa!!! Just what we needed. Around our 3rd month here, there was a girl who overdosed on drugs, running around the apartment complex butt naked. No one helped her so I called the cops to get her some help. A month or so after that, there was a guy who was pounding on our door trying to enter our apartment. I guess he went into some other girls apartment before our and was trying to find a place to hide. That girls brother and I subdued the man and called the cops on him. What did Tressa do' Prob. nothing at all. I gave them the police case number but heard nothing after that. Oct. We had a pumpkin outside our door to be festive. Bad idea. Someone stole our pumpkin. A month or so passed and guess what, someone decided it was more convenient to let their dog poop in the hall way and decided not to pick it up. The poop was there for a few days. They had the nerve to scatter it around the floor. Talking about nasty. We complained to the management team. I'm guessing nothing was done. A week later, more POOP on the floor!! Again, complained. Nothing done I suppose. A week later, MORE POOP!!!! This time we took pictures and gave it to the management team. How long did it take them to clean it up' 2 days. In the morning of a work day, we heard this girl scream for help. REALLY LOUD!! At 6 A.M. And she screamed for over an hour. Neighbor downstairs. Cops came, guess she was on drugs. Funny thing is she didn't even live there. That guy was a dealer''' Could be. more

Everything Comes At A Price....MUST READ IF CONSIDERING LIVING AT TRESSA 6/30/2011

I have lived at Tressa for roughly 13 months at first it seemed like it was going to be a great place to live. It is conveniently located, the apartments are affordable, and the apartments are relatively nice. What they don't tell you when you move in is that it is extremely loud here, people are screaming and yelling at each other at all times of the day, not to mention the fire alarms are always going off. Also the crime that happens here is ridiculous. I pay to park my car in their garage and it has broken into at least 4 times, they stole 3 really nice car stereos and finally I gave up and quit replacing them. My car as been vandalized and the management can't or shall I say wont do a thing about it. They just say oh we will move your car into the employee lot where nothing happens to make you feel like they are doing something. Then 3 weeks later your car gets broken into again in the "Employee Lot". If you think that is bad then you haven't heard anything yet. There are at least 5 known drug dealers who live here pedaling their "Stuff" in the halls and around the common areas. I know one girl who was attacked in an elevator and literally got the crap beat out of her, for no apparent reason. Also another resident told me the other day, that some crazy guy that the leasing agents pissed off because they wouldn't let him break his lease showed up with a gun and threatened to kill them all. Seriously, this is a horrible place to live, it may look nice and seem nice when you come and view it during the day but at night it is a whole different place. Unless you like the ghetto, are into pedaling drugs, are a car thief, and like to see unwarranted acts of violence then this is not the place for you. No matter how nice it looks and how cheap it is everything comes at a price. By the Way, all the "Good" Reviews out there that you may see are probably written by the leasing agents themselves trying to make their commission and rope some poor soul into this place for a year. more

It's fine it covers all the basics 11/23/2010

I can only hear thuds from my neighbor above me I rarely hear anything from the sides or below. the walls are double drywall. most noise come from the hall door which I fixed with a towel and the windows which I shut when the neighbors are noisey. this apt has more space for the $ then others I looked at. low income housing bad credit or no renters history is fine. Pets allowed. My health has improved since moving here and I have allergies. maintence is fast all but 1 emp are nice. grate location. high property crime, low physical crime lots of police monitoring fast response and great to talk to. only issues I have are tenents that treat this place and others poorly. besides rent tentents only pay electric and if they want net and tv. more

Tressa Apts 10/13/2010

I have lived here at Tressa for 11 months and stumbled across these reviews while looking for their email address online. I wanted to write this review because I disagree completely with what I have read. Especially what was said about the staff being so awful, in fact thats why I wanted to write this because in my encounters with the staff they have always been really pleasant, attentive, and professional to deal with. Also they are always having resident appreciation events and fun stuff for the kids. I have never lived somewhere that does things like that. The building has a great location being right off major bus routes and is really easy to get downtown. The ammenties are just ok but LA Fitness is right around the corner. I have never had a hard time parking my car on the street either if you choose not to get a spot in the garage. My room is spacious affordable and quiet. Finally I should say that there is an ecclectic mix of people here which I think is great! more

The good and the bad 10/6/2010

Oh man, the Tressa apartments... My husband and I have lived here since Feb '10 and I have mixed feelings: The apartments are NICE. They look beautiful, are spacious for the price, and have excellent kitchens and bathrooms. But everything comes with a price, right? I have to say, it's most of the other tenants that make living here a bit of a nightmare sometimes: People have screaming fights in the middle of the night, or sit outside on their patios and are super noisy when SOME people have to work in the morning. SO MANY PEOPLE SMOKE WEED. It is so gross, I see so many different tenants get out on their patio and smoke weed, and the smell wafts into our apartment. Also, THE FIRE ALARMS GO OFF EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I am not even kidding, there is usually not a day where some idiot doesn't set off their alarm. People leave DIAPERS and GARBAGE and FOOD... just LAYING AROUND THE HALLS. Some people would even leave cat litter on the floor in the trash room. It's inconsiderate and disgusting! I agree they should screen their tenants better, and also put the noisy, loud, dirty (as in, leaving garbage around), weed smoking tenants in one part of the complex, so the hardworking, quite, and clean tenants can be in peace. If the rooms weren't so nice, I wouldn't think twice about living here. more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE 10/4/2010

I agree with other reviews. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE The people that work here do not know how to run a business. They make mistakes on the month they tell you you'll get free, then try to charge you for they're mistakes with a warning that if you don't pay they'll kick you out asap. They'll charge you every opportunity they get for anything. They have an enormous unnecessary amount of paperwork with all they're crazy rules. The first night we were signing the paperwork the guy was extremely impatient and rude. Actually they are always rude. The hallways and elevators always stink and have spills, spit and/or food on the floors. The maintenance people do work on it, It's not their fault. The elevators and intercoms are useless because they are always broken. Guests are confused on how to contact you, they have to call your cell and you press 9 But no one explains how to use them. They also won't tell you where the recycling is either. Fire drills go off in the middle of the night often in the whole building and inside the apt. The cameras are a fake they are not activated. People are always screaming and fighting right outside you're door. The list goes on but I'll stop here. Just glad the lease is almost done and we're leaving. I only give 1 star because I can't do zero. more

Terrible Managment 6/24/2010

This building is nice for now bit with the people they are moving in here it will be trash within 5 years. Managment is clueless and unprpfessional they know nothing about renting or selling and act as if your questions and concerns are an inconveinvce to them. When we signed our lease they did not show us where the mailbox was or the trash area and even gave us the wrong key.Anytime we go down to ask a question they are rude. This cheaply made building has good potential for the renter who does not planning to stay long but the management will make you careless about your community. more

Just be aware!!! 6/5/2010

Good: The apartment community is conveniently located near lots of retail establishments. There is a nice walking trail nearby and of course Bitterlake is not too far from the building. All the appliances and cabinetry are brand new.. Bad: The leasing agents are a bit pushy when they want you come in and look at an apartment. Once you get in, they flip their little attitudes as they you owe them something for receiving 2 or 3 months of free rent. Don't let them fool you. Nothing in life is FREE. It's a clever advertising tactic. Once they get a full house, if ever, they'll start trying to sneakingly get more money out of the tenants. Also, there's quite a few boozers, drug users, and smokers so if you can't handle toxicity, DON"T RENT HERE!. Improvements: Regarding improvements, they need to better screen their tenants and put all the bad asses in one area of the property. Also, they need to work on their CUSTOMER SERVICE skills as to ensure tenants want to renew their leases. Remember, it's a government project,or excuse me, a tax-credit project. If you don't like BIG BROTHER looking over your shoulder, you probably won't like it here. They have cameras everywhere.. Other: There's nicer properties that are not government "project" housing. The windows are supposedly energy efficient, but it is freezing on the lower floors. Also, the walls are thin and you will be able to hear the sometimes nonsensical conversations of your neighbor. That's apartment living for ya!!!. more

horrible 4/9/2010

Extremely small, cheaply made apartments with paper thin walls and ceilings. I feel like all my neighbors live with me. They charge for parking and the fitness room is a few machines that are constantly not working. Can't wait til the lease is up. more
