This was a NIGHTMARE experience for me! I felt like my car was stolen from me. John quoted $900. Four day later, he calls me and says $1900. I spent 50 minutes on the phone trying to explain him that I would never go for that price since trade in for this car is $1500. He offered me to take it to a junk yard as the only alternative. I felt like calling a police. I sucked it up and paid since I needed my car back. To top it off, the shifting problem is still present and the clutch pedal is very hard and it vibrates. Worst then it was! Thief! more

Terrible Experience 5/17/2012

I had a rebuilt transmission put in my car 11 months ago. I took it back and was told the radiator broke and that the transmission was not salvageable. According to John, I needed a new transmission. This was a complete lie. When I went to get my car, John wouldn't even face me and refused to give me a receipt with his diagnosis until I refused to leave without getting one. He also hung up on me when I questioned his logic. Completely unprofessional shop and not worth your time. You are better off paying a little bit more but having the shop stand behind their work and deal with people in a professional manner. more

True Professionals in the Transmission Business 11/16/2011

WOW!!! This place is it for professional repair on your transmission. I called seveal other places, and Trans By Bruce offered free towing, ( which I didnt need, my truck was still roadworthy) Dropped the truck off, got a call stating Exactly what was wrong, and how far gone it was, After explaining what was needed, they asked several other questions about my truck and future plans with it, The repair recommendation was made and an estimate was given. The service was preformed in a VERY Prompt and professional manner. My truck has never preformed better!!!! Thanks Guys your are my Transmission Guys for life!!!!... Do I recommend them???? HELL YES!!! recommend and trust in a local, well established company. more

Saved Me!!! 2/21/2011

I have a 2004 Escape, had many codes that popped up, kept it from passing emissions, all my other shops wanted too much money. They diagnosed it, found the one problem, fixed it in a timely manner, didn't overcharge me labor or parts, and it runs like a champ. Excellent techs, excellent service, better than any shop I've been to. A+. more

Really Nice Guys and Very Helpful 9/22/2010

Our daughter's transmission was slipping and when the transmission light came on we had her take it to Bruce's. They were extremely helpful and stayed true to the quote we had been given. The job was completed on time and I would definitely recommend going there. Thanks Bruce! more

good people, just bad luck, my car still not right 8/25/2010

UPDATE a week after my car was done a sensor for the tranny went out, they did fix it for FREE, which was good seeing how his quote was 300.00 higher then any quote i got for a complete rebuild from his competitors, now my tanny is leaking tranny fluid, and im going to have to take it back again, hopefully its something simple, ill update again once my car gets looked at for the leaks. I DO WANT TO SAY THE TRANNY IS WORKING GREAT, JUST THESE LITTLE THINGS KEEP GOING WRONG.. more

When you need work done on your car, and need it done fast! 2/17/2010

A friend of the family recommended Transmissions By Bruce to me. I haven't had the time or money to take care of my car, and there were multiple problems from bad front bearings to brakes that were worn down to nothing. They were able to fix all the problems I had with my Ford Taurus in one laborious day. It hasn't run this good since it was first purchased. Pros: Fast and reliable service. Cons: Mechanics were very busy; never got to meet them. more

DONT even bother....unless you like wasting money 1/2/2010

These guys are very bad and im sorry i went there. They gave me a price to get me in and added another $700 to what i was quoted..the did a poor job.......my car had was leaking trans fluid since i picked it up the lines were all rusty and they did not even tell me or give me a quote to fix it...they gave me a crummy 6,000 mile warranty...insist on cash...and they are big liars...i really dont think they have a clue... Cons: BAD SERVICE more

What a Joke Not to be trusted 1/6/2009

30 years ago I trusted this place when the father ran the business. Since the son took over the place has gone down hill. I had my Explorer in there for Transmission work. I had to bring it back 5 times and the last time they charged me another $200 bucks after paying $1300 for a rebuilt tranny. Cash only and after 4 times they claim they did not remember me. All this happended within a nine month period. They lied and Never met their deadlines. 3 months later I had to take the Explorer to AAMCO where they fixed the remaining shifting problems. Problems included not shifting when cold, Shifter alignment, leaking fluid and engine light coming on related to transmission codes. Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!! Cons: Poor work, Lies, cannot be trusted more

GREAT SERVICE 12/22/2008

I recently had my transmission replaced by Transmissions By Bruce. Everyone was very helpful and explained everything to me. They towed in my car for free where other places were going to charge me. My repair was done within a few days. They even took me for a test drive and explained the after care instructions. I have never been to a place where a business treats a customers car like their own. I highly recommend Transmissions by Bruce to everyone. Pros: Service was great. more

Dont ever take your car here. 9/28/2008

Worst place to take your car. Had to take mine back 5 times because of problems that didnt exist before i put the car in the shop. Forgot to put a vaccum hose one, broken the fuil line twice, the transmission they put in fried in less then a month, and miss alligened shifter. Even the tow truck driver gave it bad reviews saying "" he judges a place by how many cars he tows out of there"" Unless you want a car worse off then you had stay away. Pros: will try to fix whats wrong Cons: makes more problems then you started with more
