This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating! I had to move here because of certain circumstances, and the rent was in my price range at the time....BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! For...

Slum Lords! 2/12/2011

TJ Guyer and associates are slum lords who only care about helping themselves to money. I am filing a lawsuit against them because they allowed a unit I was renting from them at Trail Creek Apartments in Vancouver, Wa to become uninhabitable. They hire on site managers for their properties who are bullies and do not mind breaking the law. One of them actually tried to fight me on two separate occasions. They didn't fire him either time, nor any of the other times he picked fights around there, which were numerous. I begged them to remove the black mold my apartment was covered in and they kept telling me it was either my fault, or it just happens in this part of the country. They then told me to bleach the walls, but to be careful not to ruin the carpet. I had a slug infestation for years that was ignored. I had several maintenance requests ignored and I just learned to either fix it or let it stay broken. The sewage backed up into my bathtub five times while I was there. The last time it happened was a Saturday night. Guyer decided he didn't want to pay for a plumber on Sunday, so he waited 38 hours to send one. By that time, it had backed up in the whole building and flooded my bathroom with the raw sewage of four apartments. It soaked into the floor, which had been cracking for quite some time from rot. It also soaked into the carpet. They did a horrible job on the floors, made me and my daughter go to another building to use the toilet because they had mine sitting in my tub for more than a week. They didn't clean up any of their construction mess. They didn't show up to work on it when we agreed, and they would let themselves in whenever they did show up claiming it was an open issue so they could just let themselves in. (I was sick and told them they needed to stick to a schedule and was told I was ""nit picking."") I had to rehang the bathroom door after a couple weeks so my daughter and I could have some privacy. I had to bug them repeatedly for a discount on my rent, and all they did was give me half a month off. They decided one day they were done, and stopped showing up. Trust me, they were NOT done! They left the rotting sewage carpet untouched, did a TERRIBLE job on the floor and walls in the bathroom, and never checked back in with me. I called the home office to ask when they were going to finish and they said they were told they were done. I told them how terribly they did on the work in there and the head office said they would get to the bottom of it. Mind you, this was more than a month after the initial incident. One week later, I turned in my 20 days notice. I hand wrote the notice because there is never anyone in the office. In the notice, I told them to keep my deposit, but I would not be paying them another penny. I also told them I did not want anyone in my place until I left. By the time I left, all my stuff smelled like that rotten carpet. I moved out of my apartment and had rent a room from someone until I can get back on my feet. I lost custody of my daughter because I don't have a home for her. The mold and rot in that apartment also made me very sick. TJ Guyer's answer? They are charging me for the whole last month, not the 19 days I was there. It was 19 days because they served me a three day notice to pay or vacate, even though they knew I was leaving, and that put me out one day before my 20 days was up. I showed up at the appointed time for my final inspection with the onsite manager about 20 minutes early. When he was 15 minutes late I called the head office. They called him and he told them he wasn't going to wait around outside for me to show up. After the inspection, the onsite manager showed up at my ex wife's mom's house to deliver papers he forgot to give me before the inspection. I called the head office to tell them he was doing stange things and ti keep him away and they got snooty about it. Slum lords and nut jobs, all of them! more
