More than "ho-hum" grocery shopping 12/18/2010

Tops is the most unique grocery store I have ever been in. It has all the varieties you could ask for: even fresh fish and bulk products! You get a feeling of neighborhood. We meet there, we bring our visitors there, we shop there. They have done a lot of improvements in the last year which means they care about us. I love Tops. They have gourmet, conventional, International, and organic foods. And anytime I have asked them to get something for me they have. Try that at a chain! more

Cheapest place to get immediate groceries in Williamsburg 9/4/2005

Tops is the only true grocery within walking distance of the Bedford L train. They offer decent prices, though some items can be found at Kings Pharmacy for much cheaper (soap). They tend to offer excellent deals on natural cereals, 2.99 a box or so. The bad part about Tops is that it is located a few doors down from a meat packing place. You'll want to hold your nose and avoid looking at the clear garbage bags if they are still sitting outside. Also, make sure to check the dates on items, esp. fridge items- too many times I've brought something home to open it and find mold. more
