Great Dining Experience!! 5/4/2007

Recently while on a vacation to Miami, I took a date to Toni's after playing some pool up the street. She is a sushi connoisseur, so naturally I let her order the food knowing we couldn't go wrong. The decor was authentic and we chose to sit at a table where our feet were dangling. Both of us got a big kick out of this and we asked the waitress to show us how to get in. hahaha. Highly recommend the variety seaweed salad and the duck appetizer is literally to die for! I think we were there for 2 or 2.5 hours and we closed down the restaurant at midnight. Thanks to Toniy's, it really set the stage for a fantastic night of dancing and cocktails afterwards. My date mentioned several times how good the customer service was and it was by far our best dining experience in Miami! Thanks Toni's! Pros: Customer Service, Food, Environment Cons: Restrooms more

Great Authenticity, Food Quality Lacking, Unclear pricing 12/14/2006

After reviewing several sushi selection in the SOBE area we decided on Tony?s based on its length of time in the area. Upon our arrival we enjoyed the very authentic atmosphere. The sushi quality and selection was lacking diversity. There is no sushi list, you must select from lists of Sushi for two - $43, For One - $24, Rolls, or Combination Plates ($24 - $30). Soft Drink refills are not free $2.00 per glass, and they automatically added 18% gratuity for a party of two. Sushi pieces were small, very thin & long, making it difficult to handle. Overall much improvement is needed in the food quality and selection. Pros: Decour, Service, and Location Cons: Food Quality, Selection more

just short of perfection 1/25/2006

you've never been here before?!! the sushi is amazingly fresh and tasty with colossal portions unmatched on the beach. If you get a chance try the tuna avocado salad, or salmon carpaccio as an appetizer from the sushi bar. It's just divine more

theres a reason why this restaurant is the oldest sushi bar on the beach. Toni still strives to be on top while competition builds up in this new city. Aside from the great kitchen dishes, I would recommend sitting at the bar and talking to the chefs who carry much tradition and pride from Japan. Another reason for recommending the bar is the chef's special dishes he serves to the bar. But then again, most people in America cannot decifer the difference between a california roll, and real sushi. Pity. more
