Best

Tom Sawyer is a place that I beg my hubby to bring me to for their delicious country fried steak and gravy. Yes, one of the reasons he probably says no is so that I don't pork up...

My husband had the #4 Croissant French Toast with eggs, bacon and sausage. I had the Egg Benedict. \r Cathy was our server.\r I have been in the restaurant biz for 41 years and knw what to look for and certainly knw what I expect.\r \r Food was very, very good. Croissant French Toast was light, not soggy at all. The Benedict.....eggs poaches perfectly, English muffin was a little dark but not enough to complain about. Sauce was light and very smooth.\r \r Cathy was obviously a very experienced server, she greeted us immediatly, curtious, prompt and made suggestions. \r \r Will def go back if and when we stay in Boca Raton again. My husband said, "When we retire this is the kind of place I want to go to and be a regular. more

Oh wow, I just ate myself silly. I had the ultimate croissant French toast. It was heaven! Very thin and absolutely delightful with fresh fruit and whipped cream. My husband had the volcano omelet and loved it. The ingredients were fresh and very high quality. Great service in a little diner atmosphere. We will definitely be back! more

Disappointed. Food is ok, but nothing exceptional. Not worth coming back. more

I talked my wife into trying this after reading some of the reviews and because we are always searching for a great breakfast place. My first impression was mixed, there was no one directing the front of the house or letting us know how to place our name on a waiting list. The place was packed and rustic, so we figured it must be one of those places only locals know about. The menu look enticing. I got the croissant french toast combo with eggs and bacon and my wife got a croissant egg sandwich with bacon. My french toast was tasty but the bacon was so greasy and wife got an egg sandwich with ham on a bagel. Not sure what was homey about the home fries. Looks like they were just cut into cubes and deep fried. So, the search continues. more

Wow, perhaps I DID msispeak. And for that I apologize. It seems my family and I have been going there for YEARS. Only since 1985? Amazing. \r However, the card is for 16 NOT 15 punches (YOU'RE wrong).\r And we tip for 2 breakfasts and had punches for 2 previously. Maybe your employees had a different idea about what counts as a punch. I suppose now they will punch differently.\r Plus I was a little mad about the single slice of American cheese.\r Anyway, while I disagree with you on two points I will amend my review. Try to have a nice night. more

I've been eating here for over 30 YEARS! Granted, the last few years has been a new owner (same waitresses, God love 'em) but. . . They have a program where every meal you eat you get a punch on a card. Takes 24 punches to get to $8 dollars towards your next meal (almost $200). They also have coupons two-for-one breakfast w/purchase of 2 drinks (you have to spend at least $6.75 on b'fast. Not a HUGE amount). In the past we ate and got our card punched TWICE w/coupon. This past weekend the OWNER gave us only one punch. Also, I ordered an omelette and paid for the .50 cent extra cheese (American) and got ONE lousy slice on the top of the omelette. I LOVE their food but they are getting cheap, cheap, CHEAP!!! I may have to stop going. Wake up, OWNER, and respect your customers! You are still busy as all get out. How many pennies do you need to squeeze out of us. We middle-class patrons are suffering too! more

Don't go - food was average, nothing special, service was slow and staff was unfriendly. Try Flakowitz Bagel Inn instead. It's right down the road with Much better food and service. more

Its dark and dingy. While they give you big portion, I didn't find the food all that impressive. more

MAN, does Boca need a place like this!!! I ate here for the first time on a Sunday morning. My dining partner/friend explained this place as disgustingly fantastic. I'm more of a savory kind-a-guy but i ordered the 1/2 french toast, eggs, meats plate. MAN, is their french toast AWESOME! My date had the chicken-fried steak and immediately cut half of it for me. I don't know which was better: her gesture or the ckicken-fried steak itself!?!? Damn it was good! The staff was really nice and efficient. I cannot wait to go back! more

Tom Sawyer Restaurant & Pastry has an amazing down home breakfast assuming you have no plans for the rest of the day other than lying on the couch. The minor discomfort from stuffing yourself with delicious biscuits and bacon and other breakfast favorites is well worth it. more
