I bought a car for my daughter about 40 days ago. Yesterday, as she is getting on the turnpike, her power steering goes out and smoke billows from under the hood. We have the car towed, ($160+), to BelleTire where we discover the recently replaced, (not by me), power steering pump was missing a hose. I asked if it was aloose hose or missing. Answer, missing, no clamp marks on the hose. So, I stopped to talk to Tom Cater about it tonight. After I told him the above he told me, "I'll give you $100" "If that isn't good enough you can leave withnothing". Wow, thank you for being so generous... My daughter wasjust stranded on the turnpike, she missed work, tow fee and Belle Tire cost. I told him I thought it should be $250 and he said "Leave". At this point Tom Jr. got aggressive and stood with his nose 1/2" from mine. I said he should back up andhis respones..."F you!" "I should kick your F-ing a*s" He threatend to call the police andI encouraged him to. I would wait. Both of t more

Less than 1 Star 10/6/2011

Bought a car for my daughter, price was $3500 so no warranty, I understand that. 2 months later, with her putting less than 300 miles on the car, she is on the turnpike, at 70 miles an hour and the hose blows on the power steering. She has to try to get from the left lane to the right berm, dodging traffic. We pay $162 to have it towed, thinking it is something really bad, and the mechanic say a there was not a clamp on the hose that blew. Not the clamp came off, but there was never one there to begin with! The hose had no marks on it indicating a clamp had been there. We went to Tom Cater to let him know this, and asked for him to pay for the tow and repair. He said to get off his lot, and then threatened that "I know where you live and I will get you when you least expect it." then called the police. We waited, but police said we could not file a report unless he actually does something. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS NUT CASE! more

Better than the Central Ave Strip!!!! 3/30/2010

What can I say other than a great place to do business. I came to Tom Cater Auto Sales to let them know that I needed a vehicle and that I drove 20,000 miles a year for business. They were able to show me a 2001 Grand Prix in great shape. Car, price and service was better than I have had anywhere else! I have sent 3 of my friends to buy cars from them! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! 1/25/2010

I have a feeling several of the positive reviews were actually written by those at the dealership themselves. I can not image that anyone who had problems with one of their vehicles could be positive about them. ON OUR WAY HOME from purchasing a vehicle from them, the ""service engine soon"" light came on....not a good sign!!! There are SEVERAL non-working parts in our ""new to us"" vehicle, purchased like that just days ago - and of course they refuse to fix it or help us out....knowing full-well that they sold the vehicle that way. DO NOT purchase a vehicle from them....they do not have vehicles that are in good condition, and they are not willing to work with you on what they do sell to you that does not work. My advice...go to a larger, ""real"" dealership that has integrity - you will not find it here! Cons: Exactly...con men --- poor products, poor service more

I hate Car Salesmen.....Except these guys !! 1/3/2010

I have had so much trouble with dealers in the past however after a search I found no complaints on the net about Tom Cater's . I gave them a chance and found them men their word and somewhat flexible in there price and warranty. They have two flat charges $100 Dock and $15 registration fees and that's it. If you ever bought a car from the big dealerships you never know what you are paying because of the hidden cost till signing. My wife picked up her used 2005 Honda Odyssey and she loves it....Thank you guys, we will be back!!Keith Pros: Family Owned,Local Business more
