During my last trip to Oak Hollow Tire on Dec. 31, I had three things that needed work: a tuneup, a tire that had a slow leak and the door looks seemed to have an electronic problem. The tuneup and tire were worked on to my satisfaction. The door lock, however, wasn't. The service manager suggested the problem might be with a low performing battery and recommended replacing it. I agreed, costing me $135. He also recommended new tires (the current ones were wearing properly but the rubber was starting to crack, he said) and also suggested that I needed new rear breaks. I agreed to new breaks (roughly $350) but after feeling that I had been "up-sold" enough I declined new tires. After I left the Center, I immediately noticed the door lock problem was not corrected and returned to the Center. At that point, I was told I needed something called a door actuator, which would cost another $450. I left frustrated that my door lock system still wasn't performing properly and that I may have unnecessarily bought a new batter.
I will likely return to Oak Hollow Tire in the future because my experiences there generally have been positive. But my experience on Dec. 31 significantly fell short.
