Great restaurant! I have been to this restaurant twice, and it has been fantastic both times. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the dishes and the wine, we've been seated...

I am going to try and be nice about this. I am from Spain and I was good friends with the man who started Tio Pepe's. He was one of the greatest Chefs in all of Europe (even coo...

Retort 2 sanzjr 8/30/2010

Well I have to admit I haven't actually had a main course there in many years, but I do go specifically for the caracoles. I stand firm of 5star review for the escargot, but may be over-rating them for dinner. Now I feel I must go back to refine and give a more thorough review! more

Best CARACOLES(escargot) in town!!! 8/30/2010

Good: Everything about this place is first rate. I've been going there ever since I was a teenager. My friends mother used to be a editor for The Baltimore Sun and took us there on their account... Thanks for not only my first fine dining experience, but over 20yrs. later still one of the best.. Other: I love that they still enforce a dress code, so many places try to cater way to much to our busy schedules that tradition is a thing of the past. Along with progress we should still be able to retain the good aspects of life experiences.. more

Perfect Spanish Cuisine 3/17/2006

Tio Pepe's is a hidden gem tucked away in Mt. Vernon. Though this basement-level restaurant is easily passed by on the street, it's in the running for one of my favorite Baltimore restaurants. Prices are NOT cheap here, and there is a suggested dress code, but the wait staff treats you like royalty. The cuisine is divine, from sangria to the finishing flan. My suggestion is- make reservations early! This place fills up fast on weekend evenings, so call a weeks in advance. more

try the garlic shrimp 9/18/2005

Tio Pepe's doesn't look like the greatest when you drive by, but once you go down the stairs down into the basement level you see why people come here religiously. The food is amazing...you have to try the garlic shrimp appetizer. It is to dies for but don't forget the dessert and sangria...the pine nut roll is amazing!! must save room for that. more
