I've been to the Tin Roof three times now. I know one of the bartenders through his lovely sister. Service is at best mediocre and the food is, well, bar food. Too noisy, t...

Two Words: Cheese Dip 6/11/2010

Just go and sit at the bar. Order a whiskey and diet and an order of cheese dip. Enjoy! Pros: Cheese Dip, STRONG drinks, awesome bartenders Cons: Disgusting bathrooms - but hey - it's a bar! more

Laid-back feel 7/15/2009

The Tin Roof has this laid-back atmosphere that lets you just chill... Their food is good, not just bar food but their lunches too. On a nice day you can have your lunch at the patio. Their service is alright but the bartenders are really nice and friendly. Now on Wednesdays at 10PM, you can listen to Henry and the Seahawks. The Tin Roof is a nice place to check out when you're in Nashville. more

Favorite 3/8/2009

I've lived in Nashville for 3 years and this is my favorite bar. Everyone is nice and service is great. Thursday nights are a blast. The atmosphere is inviting, the music selection is great, drinks are priced well, I could go on and on... some people just cannot be pleased and you would have to be one of those people to not have a great time at the Tin Roof. Pros: location, parking, music, service Cons: ___ more

Dead on Tuesdays 8/6/2008

I went there for my 21st, being told how 'great' it was... well the parking across the street is supposed to be 'free' but there was a homeless guy over there collecting money. We gave him the $5, in fear we'd get out car broken into. Continued our way in the bar, and I was skeptical at first. They have great Washington Apple shots, but they were in paper cups! Really? Can we say low budget? The waitress took way too long on our orders, and if you ever wanted anything- you'd be better off going to the bar and getting it yourself. I had a bunch of people meet me there (around 12) and we ending up just leaving. The service was horrible. (Oh, not to mention it was a Tuesday, and STILL slow service.) Pros: Nothing Cons: Darker than usual bar, great on the eyes more

GOOD TIME!!! 2/11/2008

Ran into some Tennessee Titans and had a blast with them!!! If you are in Nashville don't forget to stop by! more

Don't bring a large group. 9/26/2007

It was a nice plce but not very accomodating to our large group. Waitresses ignored us because we moved tables around to accomodate ourselves. Bartenders were friendly and the atmosphere was good. Pros: location Cons: waitresses more

Not what I expected 8/20/2007

I was told by many people to check out Tin Roof for a great Nashville experience. I was terribly disappointed. It was mainly college looking kids with shots stringing from one end of the bar to the other. I had hoped for a more tourist friendly experience, but I'm afraid that it just wasnt available. Probably great if you are local. Pros: crowded Cons: atmosphere lacking more

Tin Roof--What I miss the Most! 10/16/2006

Lived in Nashville for one year doing an internship and fell in love with the Tin Roof. Tin Roof is the best bar in town hands down. Always crowded, never left without a drink spilled on me but it's still what I miss the most about Nashville. Never once had bad service. Even my parents loved it when they were in town (and that was a PACKED night due to a Preds home game). Hope to be back soon to visit the Roof! Oh yeah, Great Queso too! Pros: Service, relatively cheap Cons: parking more

WAYYYYYYYYYYYY CROWDED 3/17/2006

this place is only okay...all the people there are preppy college jock typw, it get way to croded and smoky and hot in there, but the back patio is nice in the summer. Pros: location, outdoor bar Cons: crowded, smokey more

amazing atmosphere 1/22/2006

I Tried out The Tin Roof Saturday night and was amazed. The atmosphere went from a laid back small crowd at 9 PM to a jam packed mad house at Midnight. Henry and the Seahawks is a very good cover band playing a mix of old and new from Alabama, Skynard, Tom Petty Bon Jovi, and John Mellencamp to the newer cuts from John Mayer, David Gray, Keith Urban and others. The Quesadillas, queso dip, and salsa are some of the best Ive ever had. The crowd was too big to move around in easily, which isnt a problem to me, it just adds to the excitement! The night I was there Nashville stars Kenny (Big from Big and Rich) was there as well as county singer Jessica Andrews. U just never know who you will bump into Pros: Plenty of parking, Atmosphere, Value Cost vs. fun Cons: crowded more

Amazing place to visit 11/27/2005

I've been going to Tin Roof for years. Yes, it can be packed to the point that you have to shove your way through... but who want to go to a bar that's dead?!?! The drinks are affordable. The servers are friendly. The band is very talented (by the way, they have added A LOT more songs to their sets). If you are looking for a place to go on the weekend, this is the place to be. Pros: Good music Cons: Parking more

Rip OFF! 11/19/2005

They said get tickets early for Billy Currington on Nov19th b/c they will sell out. Got my tickets over phone a week early. Got there, my name was on the list but they ran out of tickets and were marking peoples hands. They sold out but were still letting people in. Billy was playing in the back room but they weren't letting anymore people in! I NEVER SAW BILLY! I bought my tickets early so I was garanteed a ticket to see him. I asked for my money back and they said that it said "first come first serve" on the ticket. I never got a ticket!! It was sholder to sholder with people pushing everywhere because tin roof let more people than they could hold. They promised all these people they would see Billy in concert, but only 1/4 got into the back room to see him. VERY disappointed! more

Great Nashville Bar!!! 7/8/2005

This is one of the best bars in Nashville. I've been going here for years, and it's great! The bartenders treat you like you've been there 100 times and know you by name, and the others are glad to meet you too!!! Tin Roof and Dan McGuiness' are the only bars to go to on Music Row!!! Pros: Great Service, Great Bartenders, It's not On The Rocks Cons: Crowded at Times more

Try It!!!!! You'll Love It!!!!!!! 4/29/2004

Tin Roof is awesome. You never know who you will run into whether it is Predators hockey players, Bret Micheals, Toby Keith, etc. Yes, it may be crowded but, when you're a social butterfly it is great to meet all of the people from different backgrounds. It is the greatest atmosphere I've been in, in quiet sometime. Hey, and the drinks are stout!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Chicks, Guys, Music Cons: , Bathrooms more

KiCk AsS 4/20/2004

What more can you say? The band is Awesome. The bartenders Rock. Tons of people. Tons of music. Pros: Band, Bartenders, Music more

hottest staff 2/4/2004

The hottest servers and bartenders ever! Both the girls and the guys. Fun place, goodtimes. Pros: people, music, good parking Cons: small bathroom, closed sundays, has to close at 4am more

Seahawks...Need I say more? 11/24/2003

Tin Roof has got to be the best bar in Nashville. Where else can you see Henry show his tummy and Smith drink his daily pitcher of beer. Greg, Tim, Morgan, Derrick, Andrew and anyone else I may have forgotten, have the chemistry of a tight Knit family. Service never without a smile, and believe you me, they are worth every cent you tip them. So throw on an old t-shirt, some jeans and the all important Von Dutch hat and drink one with the boys. Pros: Inexpensive, Great Bartenders, pleasant people Cons: packed more

Nothing special 8/2/2003

Actually a pretty nice bar. My only complaint is regarding the music. The band plays the same set at least 3 times per night, every night. NEVER any variation- it sounded cool and improptu the first time... then 2 hours later it is the same thing all over again. Dixieland delight will be played at least 4 times per night as will Rockytop. The band has great showmanship and above average talent, just a total lack of variability. Its a shame. Pros: Good crowd, Fair drink prices Cons: The Seahawks more

If you go to one bar, go here... 5/18/2003

Tried on a whim one weekend over a year ago and have been going back ever since. It's the spot for just about everyone - Vandy students and grads, young and old Nashvillians alike, and anyone in the up-and-coming scene. Be forewarned, this is a bar, but this is what makes it great. A ton of people energized and dancing to Henry and The Seahawks. A great band that plays everything from Seahawk originals to Jimmy Buffett to Guns 'N' Roses to Toby Keith to their staple cover of "Dixieland Delight" (multiple times to the crowd's delight). Wish they would expand as it can get crowded, or at least make the bar on the deck full service. Perfect place to spend a night and hope that Henry and The Seahawks never leave. Pros: Great band, Gamut of people, Lively crowd Cons: Crowded on weekends, Parking can fill up more

You have got to be kidding... 4/13/2003

Decided to check out this often talked about club this weekend, NEVER AGAIN. It was more like a frat house than a bar. Loud small, lots of college folks. If you are 30 or older and in here, look for the big L on your head. They did have a band that went along with the frat feeling--pretty lame, playing lame songs (Dixieland Delight 3-4 Times???) with a front man that must've been BMOC in college and can't seem to leave it behind. Venture elsewhere if you are looking for something good. Other bars would be less hip but also less annoying. Pros: Parking, No Cover Cons: Crowded, Music, Small more

  • In Short
Similar to the Atlanta original, this nightspot hosts live bands six nights a week--everything from classic to contemporary rock to country. The bar's casual, carefree attitude is captured on the brightly colored plastic beer glasses with the slogan, "Stolen from the Tin Roof." Extra-long happy hour and tasty culinary concoctions have made this a popular after-work and weekend spot for 20-somethings and music aficionados, making the few back booths near the stage the ideal location.
