Debbie takes pride in the store and what she has to offer. She is a true and sincere person. I am glad you won't be going back, Pauls sounds like it's a better place for you, being that just about everyone that works there including the owner has about the same attitude you do. more

I'm the owner and I felt that I had to respond to JohnH853's review. His feelings about Debbie and his sexual preference for a sales person are his personal taste. And he has a right to publish that here (but if anyone really need to talk to a guy just come by on the weekends when Richard is there). However his statements about my store's pipe tobacco pricing are just plain wrong! Pipe tobacco prices that have risen at our store are because our distributors have raised their price. Not because we have increased our markup! We use basically the same standard pricing structure that Hugh (the previous owner) used! And we certainly don't double the price of popular tobaccos (although some of the tobaccos have been discounted to reduce inventory). But the real reason I decided to publish this is his accusation about ""wetting"" our pipe tobacco to increase profit. The statement is ridiculous and untrue! We sell all of our products exactly as they are received from our distributors! We have maintained a large, happy and loyal customer base. Come by our store some time and you'll why. I don't know what some of these people are saying...The store has the largest of inventory on display around. It has great, inexpensive pipe tobacco and the women who works there is knowledgeable and friendly - more than many other sales people I know. This place great, see for yourself. more

I agree with toygriffin's review whole heartedly. Not to mention, the overly anxious high spirited (speed? too much coffee?) ""dollar signs in her eyes"" woman whom I always feel patronized and ""RUSHED"" with all the ""Giddy"" ""as a matter of fact"" ""I am always right"" attitude. Should you not agree with her, get ready for her ""overly defensive"" argument, it will come! Like a mans barber shop, or my local bartender, do I want a woman selling me my tobacco? NO! Not really! I've had much better conversations with the Guys who used to work there...BY FAR! Even worse! The ""PIPE"" tobacco prices on ""certain"" brands seem to jump considerably higher the next time I come in the shop should I buy it in bulk. Are they upping the price on tobacco which becomes more popular? Sometimes as much as double!!! Which then forces me to search out the cheaper brands (unsifted hard stems or twigs) and give up my normal brand. When asked why such a small amount (approx 3 pipe fills) could weigh out at $4.25 an ounce, I was told it was wetter than usual. I just told my wife today, ""I'm going to check on other tobacco stores, this one I feel is ripping off their customers by wetting down their tobacco."" Honest review...I've also been going to this store since Hugh owned it and was located at the former Beaverton Mall, over 21 yrs. more

Great people, unbelievable selection, browsers welcome. Been shopping for pipe tobacco there for years and have always been pleased with the consistency of the product. People around me often ask what I am smoking and where to get it, must have referred 50 people to this outstanding store. Keep up the good work more

I cannot even begin to say enough, or know where to begin! Timber valley tobaccos Has a great and wonderful selection, the shop is not dingy nor is it smokey ever! Dawn The gal in question is an invaluable resorce on knowledge about cigars, electric cigarettes, pipe tobacco and cigarettes and everything else in between! I can't not imagine ever leaving that store unhappy. Everytime over the last year I have walked out of there even ore so when Dawn is working I leave I am not only happy and taken care of but its always been a great expirence! I know very little about Cigar and Pipe smoking, I go in to send stuff to the troops over seas in care boxes and not only has Dawn bu the other staff and Hugh the owner have been a invaluable resource. They are great for Tobacco and for information. I now understand why and have seen fully why they have such a loyal client base! this is the store I will always go to for any of my needs even if it means driving a little ways! I was so sad because i've used this business before and had great luck. Who ever this gal who coins herself as, ""not paid enough to put up with people like you"" needs to be put out of her misery. Someone should clue her into to the fact that she's CUSTOMER SERVICE and that a heated argument isnt never appropriate (especially over the fact that I didn't say ""please"" at the end of my friendly request for cigarettes). Also, the manager just stood there and watched with a smile on his face the entire time. Has the whole world gone mad? So many people are jobless and this is how she's treating folks? YUCK! I don't usually write reviews but had to comment on Timber Valley. The shop is very well kept. Great selection and the Staff is awesome. Worth driving out of your way to get cigars here. Pros: Huge selection, great quality, staff is awesome more

I second the previous person's review. I lucked out immensely by choosing a home right down the street from this fabulous shop. I used to go to it when it was far smaller and inside Beaverton Mall but now this has become an absolute gem and a cigar smoker's haven.\r \r It's even worth the distance. You won't find staff this friendly in the tobacco business anywhere! more

TimberValley has the best selection of cigars I have seen. The atmosphere is very friendly. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about smoking. The beginner can learn all the ins and outs of cigars, pipes and all forms of tobacco. Compare this to some West-Side shops where service is grudgingly given and you are made to feel stupid for asking questions.\r Also, TimberValley does not hide good or rare items for only their best customers. If they have it, they will sell it to you. Some shops I have been in have refused to sell me certain cigars because I wasn't a ""good"" customer.\r The prices are good. Smoking is welcomed, even encouraged in the store. You won;t find a friendlier or more accommodating staff anywhere.\r \r Highly recommended if you want to shop for, learn about or just enjoy the fine art of smoking. more
