I used to like this dealer, but the last two times I went in there, the salespeople were all new and were very demanding. I wish they hadn't changed.

We brought our Ford F150 Lariat truck in for a warranty repair with a $100.00 deductible. We were told the repair would take 4 hours and there were no loaner vehicles available but we could rent a vehicle if we did not want to sit and wait on the vehicle. We rented a vehicle for $40.00. We live in Independence and left Thoroughbred Ford at 11:30. At 12:30 we were called and told that our truck was ready. We asked to get our money back on the rental and were told no it is to bad but some repair techs work faster than others. We were also charged $448 for the warranty repair in addition to the deductible. At this point I feel that I am being taken advantage of. Why have a deductible? Why am I charged? Why not make me happy and refund the rental. I drove an hour to bring my truck to you for the repair and this is the service we get. Bad on you! more

Concerning the body shop: I got an initial call saying what they were fixing. I never heard from them again so finally I call them and they said it has been ready for days. I go there and find out they did all kinds of changes without asking. I notice right off a part is damaged but they assure me it isn't plus its the wrong color with the original being clear and the new one yellow. There are 4 other issues that have to be fixed also. I complain to the insurance company and they agree to fix it and 4 other problems. One of the problems is they broke a piece of plastic but refuse to fix it and tell me they hope I don't need a new one because they are expensive. They tell me to wait for the new part. I don't hear anything so a week later I call and its been done for days. I go to pick up the vehicle and find out the part they replaced it with is the correct color but is all scratched and the wrong size. It is 1 inch too short and the glass inside is way too small . I asked them what is up and they tell me they have fixed it all they are going to even though the parts have a one year warranty and lifetime on labor. I took a car into them that before it was wrecked was in perfect shape and now it has a scratched mirror that is the wrong size and there is nothing I can do about it. They charged me $187 for a salvage mirror assembly and a new one was $250. I really can't believe that for that price difference that they would risk an irritated customer. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. The feeling you get from them is like you might have just taken it to the ghetto body shop because that is the quality that you end up with. more

This is an awesome dealership. I have dealt with their service department on several occasions and have always been pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend them. more

Great service department. Recently took my 1994 Jeep in and they fixed it quicker than the Jeep dealer said they could, and cheaper than my local garage. I was delighted and could not be happier!! more

Do not do business with thoroughbred ford, unless you want to be conned out of money for worthless vehicles, and yelled at by sales managers when you complain about it. After a family member of mine purchased a used vehicle in July of 2011, a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, for $17,500, the problems have been never ending with this business. An ""extended warranty"" was purchased for $1000, and hasn't seemed to cover any of the following issues: Bad electrical wiring in moon roof: ~$200 to fix (not covered) Issue with heater: $300 (also ""not covered"") Was told vehicle needs new brakes (after purchase) and now, a cracked radiator: quoted around $500 (""not covered"") When I called to speak with a manager, ""Curt"" who called me an ""ass"" for using the term ""swindled"", and was repeatedly told to ""be a man"" where he hung up on me. This car was a lemon. and Thoroughbred ford will not admit to it, and refuses to make it right, only demanding more money to fix problems that should have never existed. At the time where the last problem (radiator) was quoted to be repaired, the dealership smugly told him that he ""needs a new vehicle"". These people are crooks, I highly recommend that you take your business elsewhere. more

Very poor service 5/6/2012

The only service they usually get right is a simple oil change- even then they almost always give you a list of items that need to be fixed but when you take your vehicle to another Ford dealer you find nothing wrong. Most recently they charged me $90 for a diagnostic service to tell me all of my spark plugs were loose and offered to tighten them for $350. When I took my truck to the dealer who installed the plugs- the mechanic by the way is a 20 year master mechanic- the plugs were not loose at all tight. The problem was a loose emission hose for $35. Buyer beware!!!!! more

Thoroughbred Ford recommended 7/15/2008

I have bought many cars in my years, but I have never been treated as well as when I bought my F-150 from Thoroughbred Ford. The people at Thoroughbred Ford were professional, courteous, well-informed and delivered what they promised. Pros: Pricing, speed, selection, parking and the facility is awesome more

Great customer service until you sign the papers 4/16/2008

They lie to you to sell you the vehicle. Tell you what you want to hear and never deliver their promises. Lied to a child. Have no respect for them and will not go back. Telling all friends and family not to go there. Best part vehicle is great Pros: Friendly of salesman Cons: Make promises and then lie about them more
