First, I was in love with Third Place Books because it provided a rustic nook to peacefully check out books and magazines. Then, I loved Third Place Books because a little thing called Honey Bear Bakery showed up. Now I could read a book and eat a grilled turkey sandwich with caramelized onions (hint - get this sammy!). Could a bookstore experience really get any better? Actually, yes. Now I love Third Place books because not only can I eat a frittata or a piece of carrot cake or a turkey sammy, drink coffee and peacefully read a book, but I can also DRINK BEER and peacefully read a book. The Pub at Third Place Books has now opened! It's a right pub, too. Dark, low ceiling, the smell of wood becuase of the authentic woodwork everywhere, and lots of NW brews on tap. Rustically framed by three large tree trunks, the Pub is tucked into the Southeast side of Third Place Books (on 65th). Pop by and settle in for a long afternoon of beers and books. It's almost heaven.
