Closed?!?! (Try Miceli's) 11/26/2007

We drove out for dinner, but it's closed. : ( I was really excited about going here, and we brought our 1 year old daughter with us - all of us were disappointed. We ended up not far away, at Miceli's. Great Italian and a live piano player. No Kid's menu, but the garlic and oil linguine was a winner with our child. Cons: Closed?!?! more

Cheap food - long, long waits 3/22/2007

While the food is not great, I have been going here for years to satisfy my spaghetti fix. The Mizithra Cheese and garlic bread are excellent. It?s cheap and consistent. It?s like the Tito?s of Italian food. Like Tito?s the wait is long. For reasons that I don?t understand, they never have enough servers. The restaurant can be half-empty and one will wait 30 ? 45 minutes every time. It?s a built in factor. Don?t go if you are starving. The management seams oblivious to fact that they have a dozen people waiting with 15 empty tables every time. more

For families with kids only! 1/1/2006

I was extremely disappointed with the food served here, after reading other reviews on this site (mixed) we thought we'd give it a go. I ordered spaghetti & meatballs, the sauce tasted like it came from a jar and the THREE meatballs were not cooked in the sauce, in hindsight maybe a good thing. My girlfriend ordered the lasagne, again, distinctly average & reminiscent of a tv dinner. I was impressed with the didning room itself although am staggered to think someone might find such a large noisy space romantic. The only people i would recommend this restaurant to are large families with small kids who want to be fed quickly & inexpensively, the meal was very cheap. It's true to sayyou get what you pay for. If you served any of this food to an Italian from Italy they would probably chase the chef down the street! Pros: cheap, family friendly Cons: food, food, food more

Not for Adults 1/28/2004

It's cheap and kid friendly, with free parking in the back. But the food is mediocre at best, and the ambience and service are nothing special. It reminds me of a mid-west family chain restaurant. Pros: Inexpensive, Free Parking in Rear more

Try The Mizithra 1/13/2004

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and still love it. The decor is consistently eclectic and fun; you can be seated inside a trolley car in the middle of the restaurant! I rarely ever order anything but the Mizithra Cheese (greek cheese with browned butter) Spaghetti; it's their speciality. Dinner comes with salad, bread, a drink, and spumoni or ice cream and it's still around $10; a real bargain! Pros: The Food, The Atmosphere, A Real Bargain Cons: The Wait Can Be Long, I Live Too Far Away! more

gross! 4/4/2003

this place is nice for a large get together, but other than that, the food is just mediocre. sitting in this place you wonder about your retirement plan. it's charmingly old. i'm in no hurry to come back to this place again. Pros: large tables Cons: food more

Great sauce! 10/29/2002

The sauce was very authentic. I enjoyed the meal a great deal. The service was great and the ambiance was interesting. Terrifc value. Pros: great sauce, good service, nice atmosphere more

Come and get it... 7/8/2002

The menu has a nice selection of pasta's. It's a great place to meet friends or family for a fun time and good food. It also has a full bar. Pros: Inexpensive, great place, large parking lot more

Addams Family 5/16/2002

Love the decor here - which reminds me of the Addams family. The purple velvet walls and colorful couches, not to mention the over-sized chandeliers make for quite a setting. The prices are terrific. It's noisy and fun, a perfect place for large groups or kids. There is a large parking lot without a valet - a rarity in Hollywood! The food is simple but tasty. Mizithra cheese seems to be the hottest ingredient. It's promoted heavily. Most entrees are under $10 and come with salad, bread and spumoni. I had the linguini with white clam sauce most recently and was pleased. The spaghetti with mizithra and burnt butter sauce is very good too. Try a combination plate - it's a great value. Pros: free parking, inexpensive more

  • In Short
Whimsical antiques and decorative items--velvet armchairs, vintage-looking fringed lamps and booths made from iron bedsteads--fill the dining room. The OSF Classics menu offers spaghetti with a choice of mushroom sauce, rich meat sauce, browned butter and feta-like mizithra cheese sauce, and more. Other popular favorites are the baked lasagna--layers of noodles, tomato sauce and four kinds of cheese--and the fettuccine Alfredo. Meals include a green salad, fresh-baked bread and ice cream.
