I have never really liked ribs until I tried the Mean Pig BBQ Ribs, that is all I ever eat there unless we happen to get there later than usual and they run out. I tried some rib...

Worst

got a full rack of pork ribs and they were so tough and dry we could eat only a few bites thre out the rest. Pros: good chopped bbq Cons: bad ribs 1 occasion

The pulled pork was second to none, but the beef ribs were bit dry. Good sauce and all-around good BBQ place. more

Great food, if you can catch them when they are open!! 1/11/2011

I swear the last ten times my husband and I have wanted to eat here, it's been closed. Even on days and times when they are supposed to be open. The food is good, and maybe one of these days I'll actually get to eat it again. more

I have never really liked ribs until I tried the Mean Pig BBQ Ribs, that is all I ever eat there unless we happen to get there later than usual and they run out. I tried some ribs in San Antonio last summer just to see how they compared. No comparison, Mean Pig Ribs are the best I've ever had. We consider the owners to be our friends, wonderful family atmosphere. Mr. Merritt, if you read this, I'm posting my initials, you will figure it out. Mean Pig Rocks! 1/15/2010

We love Mean Pig! We admire the family business aspect, having the children involved and making a fantastic product for the community. We are never dissatisfied, and when a restaurant makes it on the Travel Channel, they've obviously got a delicious thing going. I think the hours are great! If you eat BBQ later than 6:30, the spice might keep you awake at night. So you can consider yourself well thought of and cared for by the owners. Thanks owners! We should all be so honoring to the Lord to take Sunday off, so thanks again owners for setting a great precedent! more

An Inside view 8/7/2008

Days at the Mean Pig start as early as 6 if not before. So come 7:30 after clean up is done it makes for a long day. Sunday is the Lords day. Monday is the day we start cooking for Tuesday. So there is work being done even though people dont see it. Our hours work for us. It is the same crew all day long. We always give notice on the markee when we plan to close for whatever reason...2 weeks out of the year...I know we cant please everyone and the biggest complaint is the hours. I have 2 small children of my own. I like to see them more than just an hour a day. Thank You to all of the continous comebacks. And we welcome new comers. We do our best to make people happy and be pleasent some times rude people get the best of us more

Mean Pig 7/31/2008

This place has great BBQ & the BEST baked beans around. What I don't like about Mean Pig is they don't serve french fries, they don't leave the BBQ sauce on the table & if you call in a to go order, you have to wait in line to pick it up. If you need more BBQ sauce you must pay .25 for an itty bitty bit....all other places just leave their sauces on the table. When I call in an order to go from anywhere I expect to drive up or walk up & pick it up & go...but not at Mean Pig...you must wait in line behind everybody else. Oh one more thing...they close at 6:30 p.m. more

Great barbeque 7/23/2008

Barbeque is very good. We usually get the Family Meal Deal which is plenty for a family of four. Wish it was open later. Sometimes, they close for vacation or holidays. more

Best B-bque I've ever had!! 5/28/2008

I live in florida and my parents live in arkansas... Everytime I go visit them, I make 2 or 3 stops at the Mean Pig!! They always remember me, it makes me feel great. Last time I was there was right before thanksgiving. I was going home the next day. The owner knows how much I love there sauce so he gave me some for home. That meant so much to me!! You don't find people like that very often! Not only are they kind, considerate with GREAT customer service, but they have AWESOME food as well!! Cabot consider yourself lucky for having such an awesome restaraunt around. Pros: Food, service.. everything! Cons: I live in florida! more

Best BBQ in caounty for 10 years in a row 1/14/2008

The Food is great, the service is the same. The Military customers are a welcome site. The " Air Dinks" as they were refered to in a prior review. are the back bone of our country. Everyone has a bad day, so if you thought there were rude, maybe, you were rude to start off with. I enjoy the food and the people. The Food is all FRESH cooked every day, the BEANS are AWSOME... The are so good they have a patient on them... So If you want to go somewhere else go ahead, the " air dinks" give you the right to say what you may say, God Bless the USA and the U. S. Air Force.... The most rude owners and help you will find anywhere 11/15/2007

Remember the Seinfield episode called the 'soup nazzi'??? Well, I call these guys the BBQ nazzi's. They are mean, short and rude. They act as if they are doing you a favor by being open. There was a time when they were the only BBQ joint in town. That's all changed now and thankfully for the better. Every air-dink in the tri-city area is in the restaurant from noon to 1pm. As far as tast goes it is very, very average. I mean it is just nothing to write home about but, it's not terrible at all. Hands down the best bbq place in the state, however they are family owned and they know that they are good so they aren't opened very much WHICH BLOWS! Sun and Mon CLOSED (WHAT!) Tues - Fri 11am - 6:30 (who eats dinner before 6:30?) Sat 11am - 4pm (who eats dinner before 4pm?) more

What is dj 51 TALKING about, It' GREAT Q 9/29/2005

dj51 must be high as a KITE, The ONLY slaw offered for the sandwich's is "WET" slaw, and as far as being a grease soaked bun if you don't eat fast. I have ate there for the past 8 years and NEVER have a had a GREASE SOAKED bun. The food is great and the service is the same. Pros: Great Value, Homemade, fresh daily Cons: waiting in line more

I don't like the meat chopped and that is the only option. The sauce is average and they don't have "wet" slaw to put on the sandwich. Greasy - if you don't eat it fast, the bun becomes grease soaked. more

The best bbq in the area 6/8/2005

Absolutely the best bbq restaurant in the area - fantastic pork sandwiches and ribs, and the beef is just as good. Wide variety of bbq flavors and "strengths" - all will find something they will enjoy. The service is even better than the food, which is just an added plus.
