The best Indian food you're likely to eat on this continent. 7/2/2007

You'd never know by the pizza parlor exterior that this is the best Indian restaurant in the Boston area -- maybe the best I've ever experienced in America or during several trips to India. The multi-regional dishes are imaginative, fresh-tasting and (according to my Indian friends) authentic ""like my Punjabi mother used to make on her best days."" The service staff are not particularly helpful or friendly, but they're efficient enough. The lunch buffet, usually featuring their amazing chicken kebabs with lots of other interesting veg and non-veg choices, is the best deal in town, and nothing at all like the normal Indian restaurant buffet lunch, where it seems like one huge kitchen is providing the same food to every restaurant in the area. . Don't plan to linger too long; it's usually crowded and pretty noisy, and the seats aren't all that comfortable. Forget all that: go there for the food and you will not be disappointed. [A nice touch is the little demitasse cup of soup they treat you to while you're waiting for a take-out order.] more

Best Indian Food in Boston....Even for Vegetarians! 5/14/2007

The name ""kebab factory' is deceptive. My friends wanted to eat here, and I decided I'd just find some vegetarian food nearby since a kebab place would most likely have nothing for me to consume. But the weekend lunch buffet had enough chaat and vegetarian entrees to choose from! The paneer was the softest I have ever eaten, almost like the paneer you get in India! The rajma was also brilliantly made. The samosas and halva just added to the fun. The buffet cost only $10 per head and was totally worth the money. I am a vegetarian, but I haven't had better Indian vegetarian food in Boston till date! So all you vegetarians out there, this is definitely the place to go for tasty, flavorful Indian vegetarian food! Pros: tastiest food, enough vegetarian options more

Best Chicken Tikka Masala Anywhere 5/11/2007

The Kebab Factory serves the best Indian food I have ever had. I've taken friends and family to the Kebab Factory over the last year or so and everyone raves about the food. So delicious. The staff is friendly and the service is always quick. Their complimentary soups are incredible. The best thing about the Kebab Factory, though, is the chicken tikka masala. It is SO GOOD. Spicy but sweet but tangy and awesome. Seriously. Just go and try it - you won't regret it! Pros: The food, the staff, the location. Cons: A little pricey, but the food is worth it. more

Best Indian Food in Boston. Excellent Kebabs, great buffet. If only words can define the kebab factorys regular and special curries. Superb Service Polite, generous and attentive server. Its been too long I've been started eating at the kebab, food always taste DELICIOUS. Best Indian Food! 10/8/2006

I just saw the Best Of Citysearch list for Indian Restaurants and was surprised that Kebab Factory wasn't listed there. Instead, there were quite a few awful restaurants which I wouldn't step into again! Bottomline, BOC reviewers have no clue what good Indian food really is! I have eaten at their buffet and ordered off the menu, and both were excellent. The place does get crowded on the weekends at lunch - so either go in early, or be prepared to wait a bit! Being from Bombay, we tend to be picky about food at Indian restaurants in the US. However the Kebab Factory has become our favourite place near Boston for eating North Indian style Indian food especially meat dishes (chicken, goat or lamb). Our Favorite any night 8/3/2006

We order from here often and it is a great place to take friends. There is something for everyone and it is all very good. I have never had soup at an Indian restaurant before and theirs is so good that sometimes we just order some soup and naan. The best soups are the spinach soup and the mushroom soup! Also particularly good (and unique) is the Tandoori Mahi Mahi. The servers are all attentive and very nice, making this an all around favorite restaurant of ours. If it's GREAT indian food you want, THIS is THE place. Every single dish tastes different (not the same base curry sauce in every dish). You can taste the freshness and smell the spices in each and every dish. This is what Indian food is all about. Place is a bit small and the servers are a bit 'inexperienced' but who really cares - when the food tastes this GREAT - you tend to over look everything else. The only con about The Kebab Factory is barely a con - the prices are a little high but the food and service makes up for it. The tasty cuisine and generous portions will almost make you forget the prices! The service is also pretty good to the point where they will usually offer you a complimentary appetizer (tasty soup) - even with take-out! I haven't tried too many different dishes since I can't seem to get enough of the few that I have tried - EXCELLENT Tikka Masala! The buffet is also a must but be prepared for extreme food coma to set in due to the amount that you will inevitably consume. Not just your average neighborhood restaurant 12/8/2005

Situated halfway between my office and home, it escaped my notice for months because of its upscale look and slightly higher menu prices. Then one day I decided to try their takeout. While waiting for my food, the hospitable staff tempted me with a small cup of complimentary soup. I took a moment to relax in the silk-covered ambiance before venturing back into the world. Now I'm something of a regular fixture at the Kebab Factory, especially on a slow lunch day. Their lunch buffet, which not nearly as flavorful as their dinnertime dishes (spices are muted for the curry-challenged), is an excellent place to sit, relax, enjoy food, and then spend some time going over paperwork while digesting my meal. more

Very fresh and flavorful 9/26/2005

Had avoided this place for some time because prices seemed a bit high but took a chance and was thoroughly pleased with dining experience. It doesn't look like much from outside but inside is pleasing and warm and food selection is far beyond the standard Indian fare. Dishes were all bursting with fresh flavors and we could hardly get enough. The food here is really good and they have a number of great kebab dishes that you can get. Also try the naan sampler which lets you have one of each of their 4 different naans - the garlic naan is the best and has real chunks of garlic. more

Great Kebab and more 6/17/2004

Love this place. It's right across street from Dali in Somerville. On street parking is not that hard. It's not too big, but well decorated. The staffs are friendly, unlikely many other rude Indian servers at many Indian restaurants. We got a free apertizer before the meal, a bonus. Their kebab came in a bronze pot to keep it warm. I had the best lamb kebab ever, it's well marinated and spiced, for just $15. They also have many seafood dishes which are unusually for an Indian restaurant. You definitely have to try this place.
