This is a little gem in the middle of nowhere ( sorry Clintonites). Great food & service. Took a client there recently. Duck liver pate sausages & venison sausage with veal chops and white beans was fantastic. Beef Wellington and Seafood Newburg were received to rave reviews! Fireplace and dark wood completes the picture. Nearby Art Museum and historic mill are a must see. Go! Eat! Enjoy ! more

This was the best food I had in a long time I was there with 7 people every body. Loved there food next time I am in Clinton I will be eating there. I also drove for three hours from new york to go there to meet freinds from pa cant wait to go back more

Our visit to Clinton is never complete unless we have eaten at The Clinton House! Demetri and the wonderful staff are always friendly and attentive. The Southern Comfort Sours are great! My favorite menu item is the prawn cocktail with fresh horseradish, and for my main meal the filet mignon au poivre with brandied cream sauce. Dessert is either cheesecake or the bread pudding with Baileys.. We have been coming here for over 21 years now and its great to have a local restaurant that is always consistent and welcoming! more

Quaint historical carriage house from the 1700's. Had jumbo sea scallops on bed of linguine along with french onion soup and good house salad. Great service and atmosphere. My wife had stuffed pork chop in Applewood sauce. Excellent choice. Got apple crisp dessert to go. Too stuffed to eat in. Recommended stopover when in area.n more

The Clinton House has been our go-to restaurant for entertaining friends and out-of-town guests for years. The service has consistently been friendly and attentive, while the food has always been savory and well-prepared. My family's favorite menu items are the house salad dressing (catalina with crumbled blue cheese...mmmm!), french onion soup, filet au poivre with brandied cream sauce, and the bread pudding with Baileys. They have a rotating menu of specials, which my step-mother watches closely so as not to miss the liver and onions. We enjoy the cozy ambience, which is rich with dark wood, exposed brick, and candlelight.\r \r The Clinton House is located in a picturesque part of Clinton, NJ, and features breath-taking views of the mill and water wheel, a waterfall, ducks and fishermen. A footbridge takes you over the waterfall to the local shops and eateries. We like to stop at Citispot for a matcha green tea latte. more

The Clinton House offers great service, a great environment, and great service, but at a cost. If I had money to spend, I would definitely consider coming to the Clinton House more often! more

Fine dining. 11/11/2005

The first time I went to this upscale restaurant located next to the Red Mill at Clinton offers fine dining, nice atmosphere, and a nice selection of drinks. My first visit to Clinton House was for the rehearsal dinner for my wedding, and EVERYONE was happy with the choice. The prices are a bit high, but not for what it is. This is not a place to bring infants, but jeans would probably be acceptable attire. Their peppercorn steak is to die for! more

Good food 9/7/2005

Clinton restaurant is the place to go if you want good food. The staff is very nice and welcome, and the price is not that expensive. The only thing is that the parking is often full and it is difficult to get an empty spot. Other than that, it is the place to go to eat out. more

I got my parents a gift certificate for here a few years ago and every time i see them they are still talking about how delicious the food is here. The price is quite reasonable for the caliber that the food and establishment are. A nice meal for two without drinks will run you less than 100 dollars!!! That is excellent considering that this is a 5 star resturant!! Give it a try for a special occasion. more
