We sat at the bar for dinner, and even though it was packed on a Thursday evening, we got prompt, professional and friendly service. The food was all good, and we had a great time chatting with the crowd of locals at the bar. We will definitely go back when we are in the area! more

I called Friday for an early dinner reservation for 6 and Julie was very welcoming! We arrived at 5:30 and Anna Marie seated at a round table by the window. Perfect size. Everyone loved their meals, tasty and portions. Kathy our server was terrific. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We'd definitely go back. Even walking distance from the Holiday Inn. Thank you for a terrific evening. more

Great location in town, plenty of seating colonial feeling to the dinning area gave a great rustic feel. dinner it was. Salads came with meal, fresh. Seafood Newburgh was meaty and puff shell was good good sauce, crab au'gratin was also good. Lots of heavier beef n pork dishes looked good. Great service. more

Hadn't been here for years. When we found that it had been taken over by the same group who has the Ryland Inn, we decided to give it a try. The service was very good, and the food was also very good. Will go back again. more

I've dined at Clinton House so many times but have never reviewed it! This is one of my very favorite restaurants. It is always a warm, cozy atmosphere inside, especially nice if you are seated by the fireplace. The staff here are always so friendly and never hurry you if you wish to take time between courses. Never disappoints. more

Surprising Food, great atmosphere, good service. 1800 decoration with 1930s music and locally loved. People come to dine aa if they were dining on their own dining room. Merlot and creme of mushroom for starter, creamy and salty, how a mushroom should be. Grilled salmon to perfection in a bed of spinach with creamy lemon sauce with a side of rosemary rice. more

Love the steaks. Have eaten here a few times now. I have always had great steaks, especially the strips. Sometimes the fish isn't what it should be, but it is close. Nice bar area and the place is always full. It is a place to relax. You are never rushed. more

Great atmosphere, food is above average but pricey. Nice place to go for a special meal but expect to spend mega bucks. It's in a nice area for a short visit to a quaint town. Steaks are very good, a little disappointed in dessert but still was good. Historic Restaurant with nice atmosphere. more

Enjoyed an outstanding dinner here a few days ago with my family. The food was outstanding, as was the service- extremely friendly and accommodating. Portions were generous and atmosphere very comfortable and casual. I couldn't bring myself to eat the snapper turtle soup, by my kids loved it.I will definitely eat here again more

This is a lovely old house that has been converted into a rather large restaurant. The interior decor is lovely and the staff were very friendly. There was a simple salad and then filet mignon with baked potato, Very solid. It is the type of restaurant that certainly might be romantic in the proper setting as it has a warm interior. Thus, I could see how people might find this as a wonderful restaurant. attractive setting for a business dinner more

Stopped at the Clinton House for a light dinner at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and knew the menu well. Although I had only planned on having an appetizer, I saw a traditional Beef Wellington on the menu. It was quite good. Light crunchy pastry with a very nicely done filet mignon in the center. I plan on returning. more
