Huge portions and wonderful cheesecake! 10/22/2008

My husband and I got a gift certificate for Christmas last year. We went on a week night so it wasn't to busy. The food was very good and the portions were huge. When we go back we plan on splitting an entree. No kidding I honestly ate there then took the rest home and my son and I ate some of it for lunch and I finished it for dinner. It's a little expensive but I got four meals out of it. The place is nice and very unique but a bit noisy. The servers are a little slow and some what disorganized but not too bad. The servers are friendly. The cheesecake was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: The food is good and the servers friendly. The decor is unique and very nice. Cons: The restaurant is noisy and a little expensive. more

Fun Atmosphere... Great Eye Candy! 8/5/2008

Sundays are my days to go out and have some fun. One of my favorite stops is the cheesecake factory. The food is fabulous the atmosphere is fun and very busy and the eye candy is very good. LOL!! I would recommend sitting at the bar watching a game, drinking a beer and socializing with the friendly bartenders. I have actually met a couple of my friends at this place. So you never know you might meet someone while enjoying a great meal. Pros: Great Menu, Good Food, Mmmmm Cheesecake. Cons: Long Wait ( but Worth It!) more

All flash and no substance 11/16/2007

The worst dining experience I've had in 15 years. The restaurant itself had an attractive and unique atmosphere. Staff were not rude, but seemed busy yet clueless. We were told there would be @45 minute wait. This turned into 2 hours - we started to complain after a couple got called in that arrived about 15 minutes after we did (our booth was next to theirs, so it was not a smoking/non-smoking issue). After being seated, no one ever came to take our drink order. After about 10 minutes we had to wave down a waitress who went and found ours. We order our food at this point since we've had 2 hours to look over the menu. We got the spring roll appetizer, burger, and my wife got some shrimp pasta dish. Appetizer arrived in a timely manner and was good. Things start looking up slightly. Then our drinks run dry. Waitress is MIA for 20 minutes until our food arrives. I've been noticing the couple across from us is getting slow service and look upset as well. It dawns on me that the wait is so horrible because the place is disorganized, not because there are so many people waiting to eat. My hamburger was a joke. No condiments - I guess it's just so delicious it doesn't need any. It's served on a bun that's like rock-hard french bread. Top was off to display the magnificence of the Cheesecake Factory burger. There's a tomato slice, ring of onion, lettuce leaf, and a dry, charred oval shaped piece of ground beef (no I did not request it well-done). Suffice to say it was hard and bland and extremely overpriced. My wife's dinner was so-so and very overpriced for what she got as well. Despite all this, we decide to get some cheesecake, since we are never coming back. We waited another 23 minutes for it to arrive (no kidding). Got the check and took it home. We could have gone to a really nice restaurant for the price we paid at this phoney place. Don't get lured in and ripped off by the Cheesecake factory - go to a restaurant where you really get what you pay for. Pros: Beautiful atmosphere, some of the best cheesecake anywhere Cons: Bad food, very overpriced, extremely slow and disorganized service more

Stay away, service aweful! menu even worse! 8/24/2006

They have a book as a menu, yet nothing good to order. Food is ok, not worth the always 2hour wait!! Avoid on the weekends if you have something else to do that night!! Service aweful! And the bad part is both locations do; Crabtree and Southpoint. The cheesecake is great! However, not work $7.00 a slice. Pros: good desert Cons: Long wait, staff to busy for good customer service, children friendly more

Atmosphere could be better 8/4/2006

This place has excellent cheesecake, but I can't say it is worth the long wait for their dinner entrees. I went thinking that there was something high standard about their meals, and instead got a huge portion, over priced, and so-so in the end. So, my analysis is I'll not frequent this place.....wait staff was too preoccupied with something....hardly felt like we were attended to. Pros: cheesecake Cons: price, not customer friendly more

Some dishes are oustanding, others below average 6/7/2006

I learned the first time that this is not a steak house. Filet was way below average and overpriced. Since then, I have tried the cajun and asian dishes. They are much much better. The Thai spicey chicken noodles is my favorite. The wait is long, the atmosphere is great, the service is ok, the desserts are, well, its the cheesecake factory. Order right and you will enjoy your experience. Order wrong and you will not want to go back. The booths in the left dining area section are the best to eat in, far from smoking section. Pros: Asian dishes, atmosphere Cons: steak, wait, price more

Am I Missing Something?? I Don't Get It! 5/2/2006

I don't understand how this restaurant is so popular. I have been to the chain in Raleigh and tonight went to the one in Durham. The one in Raleigh had a 6-hour wait on a Saturday night!! The one in Durham charged us twice for the meal that they messed up. I don't get the hype. The food is decent, isn't horrible, but nothing special. For the price and the service, I would rather go somewhere that has amazing food. If you don't care about service and you want to eat trough-sized-average dishes, then this is your restaurant. If you want a dining experience, go somewhere else. Pros: Large menu, Good Desserts Cons: Long Wait, Long Wait@Table more

waste of time and money 4/7/2006

I've been to cheesecake factory twice now, and thoroughly unimpressed both times. The wait is always at least an hour. Don't even think about getting a large group in there- you'll wait even longer. The food is average- nothing spectacular. The desserts are good, however. It's always noisy and busy. Good luck trying to find your server. The portions are huge- which is good if you like leftovers- but I could get better tasting food for a much cheaper price and better service elsewhere. Pros: portions Cons: long wait, noisy, bad food more

Food is good but not as good as other locations in Chicago and Atlanta. Very loud inside the restaurant and I would recommend the take-away service. more

Not Worth Waiting For 8/15/2005

We thought this would be quite the mouth watering experience since we've heard time and time again how there was a four hour wait to eat here on the weekends. After patiently waiting, we figured we'd be in for the meal of a lifetime. Not. First, portions are huge, so shareing is by far smarter. No need in spending all your money for something that you won't eat. Secondly, the food was only so-so. Nothing to write home about at all. The waitress that helped us was hardly around our table at all, and we had to wait for her to even give us SALT! The four hour wait was not only rediculous, but obviously this has some sort of reputation that keeps people coming back for reasons I cannot figure out. I'll not return. more

So happy !!!! 5/2/2005

I have been to The Cheesecake Factory everywhere I could find one and, when I found out they were coming to my town I could not wait... Seattle Washington, Las Vegas Nevada, Denver Colorado, Boulder Colorado, Atlanta Georgia all are locations that I have been. I can't get enough of this franchise... Pros: Cheesecake, Food more

Disappointed-not accomodating to needs 3/8/2005

I had a positive experience at Chessecake Factory the first time I visited, so I thought it would be a great idea to celebrate my birthday there with 10 other family members and friends. I called, and they immediately denied reservations. I tried to explain to the manager my situation that it's a special occasion, we have a bigger party, and also older people who wouldn't want to shop for an hour before dinner...and he wouldn't even try to accomodate the customer's requests. I got the impression that they don't care for more business because they think they're so popular. I'm not commenting on their food or waiters here. All I want to say is that this place is not good for groups and special occasions (most ppl don't want to wait for an hour for their birthday dinner and take the risk of getting a bad seating area). more

Didn't Grab Me 2/21/2005

The ambience was the only "attention getter" here. Somehow I felt we were cows being led to the slaughter; pack us in, usher us to a table...no welcoming smile, just get it over with in a timely manner then await the next bunch. The food was mediocre, at best, and quite honestly, I can make a better cheesecake. Probably won't return. Pros: great ambience Cons: unmemorable service, mediocre food more

Not good for parties over 6 1/6/2005

Reception staff leaves little to be desired. Not accomdating to parties over 6. No reservations on weekend. Pros: good food more

Fantastic! 6/30/2004

This is my favorite restaurant! The ambience is breathtaking, from the muraled ceiling, dim colorful lights, marble floors, to the granite-top bar! The menu is so extensive that it is hard to make a decision, but there is always something for everyone's taste. The pumpernickle bread before dinner is great! Entree prices are reasonable (average $17), considering the portion sizes. The waitstaff is happy to make recommendations. The wait can be outrageous, but opt for the first come first serve bar tables or their heated patio. Or sign in and go shop for a while...the indicators work up to Lord & Taylor. Pros: Ambience, Portion Sizes, Menu Choices more

Great dessert and salads 6/6/2004

Fantastic variety of cheesecakes. Salads are great as well. Price is kind of up there, but it's a nice treat every once in a while. No waiting at about 4:30 pm - good spot for an early dinner. After 5:00 pm, the wait time increases almost exponentially. Pros: Variety of cheesecake, Upscale ambience, Tasty salads Cons: , Crowded, Somewhat expensive more
