STAY AWAY!! 5/26/2005

I was VERY disappointed by the bubble lounge! I read the reviews and expected fabulous ambiance and service. I was entertaining clients from NY and we found the service to be horrendous. Little help with finding a table and the atmoshere a bit mediocre. I'm not one to complain, but this experience warranted a write up. more

what a great place! Beautiful inside with couches - so comfy and nice to relax after a long day at work. There should be more places like this. A group of us were there for drinks and had so much fun. Sure it's a little on the pricey side, but there's something for everyone there. Pros: couches, large champagne menu, friendly staff more

Great Place 5/11/2005

What a great first date place this was. We were not only cordially greeted at the front door, but entertained by the door staff as we were entering. Our table was waiting for us complete with the strawberries and champagne that I had ordered. After our bubbly we ended up going down stairs and dancing the night away. I've only been to the bubble lounge a few times, by choice. I usually end up going because someone else thinks it sounds fun...this place is not fun or anything special. Expect poor service, poor food, and unless you like champagne...poor drinks. Being so close to North Beach....you shouldnt waste your time here, unless it is empty, can talk the staff into allowing you to sit at one of the 10 reserved tables (not reserved for someone who called ahead, reserved for the fools who spend $100 on a bottle of $25 champagne!), and REALLY NEED a glass of champagne. North Beach has too many option for this to be a "must see" spot. Pros: champagne Cons: poor service for $$$$, way "cool" crowd, standing room only more

Truly horrendous service 2/23/2005

Wow, didn't think service could be so bad at such a hot spot. Five different waiters brought five incorrect bottles of champagne before getting the right one. Getting water or any ancillary service required practically grabbing one of the staff. For such an expensive and trendy place, the service should have been a lot better. I asked to speak to a manager at the end of the evening and was told he wasn't available. Don't waste your money. Pros: ambience, caviar, champagne Cons: service, price, service more

San Francisco's The Bubble Lounge has succeeded in providing an environment conducive to champagne & sparkling wine consumption - one that is not intimidating, one that is sensual, one that is friendly, one that is romantic. The decor is loungey and colonial with high ceilings, comfortable red velvet sofas with oriental rugs & voluptuous draperies, floor to ceiling mahogany shelves that contain our champagne paraphernalia collection, old champagne illustrations on the walls in a space divided into champagne salons. The Bubble Lounge offers private events, parties, live music & entertainment & happy hour. We're located on 714 Montgomery St between Washington & Jackson.

  • Curtains drape the wooden entrance, while champagne-themed artwork decorate the interior's exposed-brick walls. The Krug, an intimate downstairs space with white-stucco walls and low ceilings, features a second bar more plush seating. Champagne aficionados and mixed-drink enthusiasts will find something to whet their respective palates; in addition to an extensive martini menu, more than 300 varieties of sparkling wine are available.
