I had been to the Beatnik Barber once before and got a pretty decent haircut from a woman, I think her name is Annie. This time I went and thought I was lucky enough to get the owner, Pete, to cut my hair. How wrong I was. Not only did he not give me the cut I asked for, he messed up the cut he gave me. Bad fade and failure to trim over my ears- I might sound like a bit of a primadonna complaining about a barber, but here's the clincher.... Rule no.1 of cutting hair, don't cut the client! Pete's signature straight razor turned out to be as fearsome as it sounds. The guy scraped down both sides of my neck!! And then played it off by not showing me the back of my head when he was done. I felt my neck stinging worse than razor burn as I left and found out when I got to the mirror that I had the scrapes. I took pictures to post them with this comment but unfortunately that is not an option here. I read another comment on a different site where someone said he threw them out for requesting a different barber. Guess I won't go back and ask for Annie.
Pros: It's a barber roulette, you might get lucky
Cons: As in any roulette, you might get burned - or cut!
