Great food, great service, and great advice on what to see and to do while you visiting Thailand. I would recommended this play of anyone that love Thai food like I do.

Worst

I had a mixed experience at Thai Siam. The soup was good as was the salad. However, the judge of any thai restaurant comes from its Pad Thai. This ubiquitios dish should be goo...

I went to Thai Siam on their opening day and fell in love with their Massaman. We?ve been back numerous times and returned again tonight with our friends who were nervous about Thai food. We ordered Massaman, Pad Thai, Citrus Curry, chicken and peanut sauce and the Tom Kha Gai Soup. Everything was amazing and our friends were highly complimentary. We came home with leftovers and dug right into them again! I?ve been to Thai places all over the country and world and this is a great place, always a treat more

SERVICE? 12/27/2011

Thai Siam has GREAT food,TERRIBLE service. We have been here before and loved it, so as a gift we recieved a $10 gift certificate. Because we used this $10 voucher we were treated as an inconvenience and did not receive our beverages until the end of our meal. Were treated different from everyone else dining...I would recommend TAKE OUT ....do not dine in!!! and if you do,and are treated poorly DON'T TIP!!! more

Addictive Coconut Soup 6/6/2011

The coconut, lime, chicken soup from this restaurant beckons me regularly. I enjoy their other dishes, but this one is distinguishing. I recommend adding steamed rice to it. Delicious! more

New Favorite Restaurant! 9/5/2010

Having moved to Salt Lake only 6 weeks ago, we're still working on finding great places in and around the city. The Thai Siam definitely qualifies! As anyone who loves Thai food and has young kids will know, it is sometimes challenging to find a restaurant that is appropriately kid friendly, but is also authentic and grown-up friendly. I can honestly say that we've found one! Be advised though, if you have picky kids who are unwilling to try new things, this may not be the place: there is no kids menu, and no ""American"" food either. That's my kind of place! If this doesn't deter you, know that the staff is incredibly attentive and excellent with kids. From asking how their first week of school was, to recommending things that they may like, we couldn't have been happier. Our family of four shared 3 entrees: Pad Thai Shrimp, Thai Basil Stir-Fry, and Sweet and Sour Stir-Fry. A big bowl of sticky rice is provided for the table. My husband and I also had hot Thai tea. All of this was amazing! I am admittedly a Pad Thai snob, and theirs is exquisite! After dinner we shared 2 desserts: the mango rice, and the fried bananas with coconut ice cream. Both were to die for! They were sweet and fulfilling, without being overly gooey or too sweet. When we were ready to go, we boxed up some of each entree, and they even brought us a fresh to-go container of rice to take with us as well! And best of all, all of these left-overs were just as tasty the next day for lunch - even the rice! The restaurant also has a website with their full menu for lunch, dinner, and take-out, so you can plan before you go. Overall we were incredibly impressed, and we highly recommend it! more

Fabulous Experience at Thai Siam Restaurant! 8/17/2010

I am a music teacher from southeast Utah. I took 12 piano students and one ""mom"" chaperone on a field trip to see the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition final round. As part of our experience, we took the students, ranging in age from 10 to 18 years old, to the Thai Siam. I am probably making an understatement when I say that our experience at Thai Siam was at least as big a highlight as the Gina Bachauer!! We visited Temple Square, Gateway, and of course, Abravanel Hall, but the restaurant experience truly was on our ""best part"" list. more

Highlight of our trip to Salt Lake 8/16/2010

We enjoy the wide variety of new tastes. My daughter is a Thai food lover. She introduced us to Thai Siam. This is her favorite place to eat in Salt Lake. We have returned and had a great meal and overall nice evening. We appreciate the patient and helpful wait staff and the food has always been wonderful. more

Always fun and satisfying 8/16/2010

Our family loves to go to Thai Siam. In that unassuming build is a delightful interior decor and great family dining experience. The staff is very helpful in finding meals that our younger children will like. My favorite meal was a Sea Bass over a bed of pea pods...it was great. more

Great Food! Great Menu! 8/16/2010

My family and I decided to meet at a restaurant downtown SLC for dinner. We wanted to find something different, so we choose to try the Thai Siam Restaurant. We were delighted as we opened the menu and found very fun, discriptive explanations of everything on the menu. Being new to Thai food it was very helpful. The waitress was very patient with our large group to answer questions about the spicyness of the dishes we were thinking of ordering. more

What a Pleasant SURPRISE! 8/14/2010

My husband and I tried this place and loved it! We are very picky about our Thai food since my husband has traveled the world and sampled Thai food all over. Who knew Salt Lake had such a hidden gem! Make sure you get the peanut sauce to go with your chicken, the vegetarian spring rolls with the cucumber sauce are so delicious and don't forget dessert, the ""Mango Rice"" is worth the calories! Don't believe the negative reviews, this place is unbelievable! more

love, love, love it! 8/14/2010

We were given a generous gift certificate to Thai Siam and LOVED our experience there. We are big fans of Pai Thai and sweet mango rice, but tried 8 different main courses (we ordered two huge plates of Pai Thia too). It was all delicious ! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the dish with fresh salmon.! Some of us aren't big fish eaters, but this was so darn good. We tried the fried bananas and ice cream (and the sweet mango rice ;o) for dessert . They were both absolutely divine and my daughter declared that she would ""start with dessert first "" on our next visit and WANTED HER OWN ;O) Our friends that accompanied us had never been there either and now it is our ""meeting place"" when we come to town.Thai Siam is always busy when we go there, but the service is EXCELLENT! more

You're going to love this food. 8/13/2010

I've eaten at Thai Siam many times over the last 4-5 years. I have always found the food excelllent and great service. I do not live on the Wasatch Front but when I get to Salt Lake and time allows my family and friends eat at Thai Siam. I recommend you try Thai.... Siam. You won't be disappointted. more

Polite, Flexible and Delicious 8/12/2010

I've attended Thai Siam a few times and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. I've participated in large group activities and they've been willing to create space and move us as our group exceeded initial expectations. There's something for everyone and the spring rolls are to die for. Whenever I tell my friends I'm heading to Salt Lake they groan and tell me to bring them back some spring rolls from Thai Siam! The quality of the food beats any other Thai place I've been to. At other places I've had the infamous 'spongy' beef or chicken but at Thai Siam I get tender delicious cuts of quality meat and poultry. Keep up the good work and I'll be back whenever I'm in Salt Lake! more

One of Salt Lake's Finest 8/11/2010

I have eaten at Thai Siam on several occasions: date night with my wife; work meetings; and with the whole family. We have always found the atmosphere delightful, the food incredible, and the price very reasonable. If you are looking for great Thai food, there is no better in the State! more

Not the best.. Not the worst 7/26/2010

I give this a 3/5 because i liked the atmosphere and the food was OK not excellent but OK. My pad thai was to sweet all three times i've been here. The staff however is a reason i don't like this spot, they aren't friendly if anything they're rude. They also seem to demand a tip (not many places do this). A tip is extra money if you DESERVE it. This place certainly doesn't. Pros: Decor, some of the foods good Cons: Staff more

best food, service and prices 1/28/2010

This is among my favorite restaurants in slc and I go there a couple times a month it seems. I usually go with the lunch special because it's so inexpensive. They do great things with tofu and as I said before I can't get enough of the Tom Yum it's truly the best around. The Yellow and Masaman curries are also excellent. If you're a fan of cream cheese wontons theirs are simply the best. The staff is always courteous and the service is extraordinarily fast especially if you can get in for an early lunch. Pros: Best Tom Yum. Will measure all others by it forever. Cons: can get understandably crowded at lunch time so go earlier more

Good Food...GREAT service 10/2/2009

I seldom write reviews but after reading the last review I decided I needed to share our experience. Pros: service, portions Cons: food a bit sweet but very tasty more

I second ""RUDE AND INCOMPETENT"" with emphasis on RUDE! 8/18/2009

""Rude"" pretty much sums up my experience as well. I'll never go back. A misunderstanding with splitting up the bill 3 ways caused the tip to to be less than they expected or wanted. They came running after us out the door looking for an explanation as to why the tip was what it was. Never seen such a thing. Our sever was as rude as could be. The male counterpart was aggressive and abrasive. T.I.P. stands for ""to insure promptness"". If that is the case, they should not have had a tip at all. They were very slow in taking our order. I like to give servers the benefit of the doubt and I support these folks but when they come running after me in such a rude manner, demanding a better tip, that is just bad business. I will not go back. Pros: Food was good Cons: Rude! more
