Best Thai Food Around! 12/12/2010

Thai Kitchen has the best Thai food around. I consider myself fairly experienced when it comes to Thai food and I have never had a bad dish at Thai Kitchen since I started going there over a decade ago. (The wine list could be better, but I have never found good wine at a Thai restaurant.) Go for the great food, light/family atmosphere and friendly service. more

OVERALL: FANTASTIC! :D 1/10/2009

Thai Kitchen is inexpensive. The food is great and flavorful. Wide menu selection. The waitresses are so kind and the service is very quick. I've eaten in many Thai restruants berfore this is BY FAR the best one. Awesome location. Family Friendly. If there was an option i'd make it 6 stars!!! Pros: Everything exept the decor! Cons: decor is boring... more

Bad Food, Bad Service and Expensive 10/29/2008

We wanted to get seafood padseeyou and we asked the waitress how much it will be since it was not in the menu. The waitress told us that it will be around $12 so we ordered seafood padseeyou and seafood fried rice. When we got the bill it was $18 per dish which meant that they charged us $7 more for seafood. We got seafood instead of meat but they charged $7 more per dish so we ended paying $14 more than the regular dish. The dishes were already overpriced since we went to another Thai restaurant and we got seafood padseeyou for $9. We complained that the price was not what the waitress told us, the owner was very unfriendly and told us to pay the full price. I would not mind paying so much more if the food was great but the food was very bad and the seafood that they put only little bit of seafood. How can they charge us that much and it was not even stated in the menu! Overall, the food was over-priced and the owner was very mean! more

Very good food, very nice service 10/14/2008

This has become one of our favourite local restaurants - my husband's favourite cuisines are Indian and Thai. The owner is extremely nice and friendly to everyone, and it's clear that she has a lot of repeat customers. The food is very good and in our experience, one portion is enough for two adults. A few times we have experienced a long wait for the food, but generally this is not the case. They like little kids, although it gets very messy and sticky with the rice. We can definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Pros: Large portions, good quality food, personable service Cons: Once in a while a long wait for your food more

GOOD FOOD AND AMBIENCE 6/20/2008

I love the people who own it, good food, good ambience, nice taste. good service. very prompt.same taste every time you are there. Pros: good food, ambience, service Cons: nothing more

If this were anyplace but a strip mall, I would give it 5 stars 12/15/2007

I have been a diner at the Thai Kitchen for probably over 12 years, I know the people who own it. They are very concerned about service and good food. I go there 2-3 times per month because the food is so good, and at lunch, reasonably priced. Pros: Too nice for a strip mall Cons: None worth mentioning more

Racism and Bad Thai Tea 6/28/2007

Went to the restaurant on a tuesday night and deeply regreted our visit. This is the worst thai place we have ever gone too. The service was sloooow and impersonal. After an hour and some change, we began to feel as if they did not WANT to serve us, especially when we noticed that everyone else around us (including couples that had been seated after us) was eating, getting refills on their crappy water, etc. While the place has cool, private booths...the atmosphere was still lacking...I've pretty much deduced most of our experience to some sort of racial ignorance...I'm not one too pull the race card, but I strongly believe that they did not want us (an interacial couple) in their restaurant. they were fully aware of their horrible, unattentive service and never once offered an apology to us when we tastefully expressed our dissatisfation. Do not eat here! It was a horrible experience! Pros: um, private booths? Cons: pretty much everything about this place was lame more

Okay food 4/8/2007

I was having a huge craving for green papaya salad and made the mistake of getting it here. It was the worst I've ever had. HOWEVER, I think most non-South East Asians wouldn't think about ordering this anyway so it might not be a concern for many. I also ordered the chicken coconut curry soup. Decent...a little too sour (and I love sour!)...I could probably make it better at home. Overall verdict: okay food...not great Thai though! Pros: Good service Cons: Mediocre Thai food more

Authentic Thai food in Irvine Tustin/Irvine areas 12/28/2006

Great authentic Thai food! Pros: Great Thai food Cons: Rates could be a little lower more

Great Place to take ANYONE 6/25/2005

exceptional service. fabulous food. a tad bit on the pricy side for the portions. cozy atmosphere. great place to take a friend, significant other, your family.. etc. more

Not worth it 5/7/2005

Nice clean place to eat. The food is good, but not great. The portions are small (very unlike other Thai places), and expensive as heck (for Thai food). I'm glad I tried it once, but my wife and I will never go again. Pros: atmosphere, service Cons: price, food, portions more
