Best

You can't beat this place for fast and great food. The wet burrito is incredible and the price if more than fair, highly recommend. Pros: fast Cons: parking

Worst

Bland, overpriced. There are better burrito joints (though even they're not *that* great). 12/9/2008

Absolutely bland. Beans taste like they may have been poured from a can. Perhaps they were just boiled with a little salt. If you want a veggie burrito, this is not the place. Maybe the meat dishes are spiced better, but I could do better in my own kitchen blind folded. Overpriced too at that. If I recall correctly, it was close to $8 for a burrito. Pros: Convenient location Cons: crappy food, overpriced. more

Great Mexican Food 3/13/2008

You can't beat this place for fast and great food. The wet burrito is incredible and the price if more than fair, highly recommend. Pros: fast Cons: parking more

very good food....a winner 10/24/2006

this place has an authentic menu and good service. i have been here a few times and had good experiences...good chips and salsa. fast service....carne asada is very good. more

Yummy to my tummy 1/13/2005

If I'm looking for an AUTHENTIC burrito de asada (steak burrito)... I head to this place. Honestly, I can't find a burrito like this in the greater seattle area. Maybe people like sour cream and cheese loaded on a burrito... but little do Seattlelites know that a real burrito comes with pico de gallo and pure asada with a dash of lime. That's only the burritos... you can only imagine what the rest of the menu is like... DELICIOUS! Pros: fast service, good food, authentic more

Almost Real 6/4/2004

Good authentic MX taqueria, though not quite as homestyle as a great MX food cart. The tacos Carnitas, Chorizo and Al Pastor are all great. The two chile platillos are good too. My one complaint is that the meat tends to be diced too small. Bigger pieces just taste better. Also the burritos are served in paper and foils and are hard to eat. Pros: authentic, fresh, clean more

Terrible 5/11/2004

The service is consistently terrible, this includes waiting for ten minutes to place an order while the cashier gossips on the phone, receiving the incorrect order, and receiving a burrito with fixings that tasted like they were sitting there for a few days. I am no longer going there just because it is 3 blocks away from my apartment. more

Simply the Best. 7/27/2003

Since returning to Seattle after 15 years, I have had a hard time finding authentic Mexican food. This is it. Just like home cooking and the help is always friendly. more

Delicious, authentic food 2/1/2003

Taqueria Guaymas has authentic, delicious Mexican food. It's hard to find Mexican food like this in Seattle! Pros: Authentic food, Inexpensive more

Great Tacos! 1/31/2003

I go to the one in Redmond. They have a great selection of Tacos... the real kind, not the taco bell kind. Their Lengua meat preparation is really tasty. The burritos are a perfect blend of ingredients and wonderful real flavor... not artificial. They also have some really nice Carne Asada and Pork Verde. Service is great... quick and courteous. more

Good, but not the best in the area... 1/29/2003

I like Guaymas, it's very authentic, there is good value for your money, and it's a very good representation of taqueria food that you might find closer to the Mexican border. However, I find it to be a bit lacking compared to the excellent service, and far better food at El Rinconcito (I think I spelled that correctly) in Tukwila. Although Guaymas has one thing over Rinconcito, it's usually fairly quiet. Rinconcito used to have a small bar in one side of it, and it became a hangout of sorts, and the sound of Spanish language TV combined with the sound of the jukebox got a bit loud. But it can sometimes add to the experience, providing a relaxed atmosphere while dining. Guaymas is my second choice for best taqueria. Pros: Decent food, Good prices Cons: employee attitude more

Best authentic mexican in town! 1/9/2003

Simply the best authentic mexican food you can buy in Seattle. Their Carnitas and Al Pastor are absolutely heavenly. *Everything* they make is superb, from the salsa to the baked fish to the tongue to the guacamole (superb!) to their soup. My personal favorite dish is the Super Quesadilla Al Pastor. Simply wonderful food, friendly folks, and cheap prices! What more could you ask for?? They even serve *real* Mexican beer, too! Pros: Inexpensive, Heavenly Food, Fast service Cons: Need more locations more

authentic family Mexican food 1/3/2003

This is great, cheap Mexican food. I commute to Seattle from Olympia at least twice per week, and the Taco Guaymas on 38th in Tacoma, just blocks from I5, is an oasis when I'm feeling like authentic, spicy stuff. Go right on past Borders, and the restaurant is another two blocks on the left. Pros: salsas, pico de gallo, pickled jalapenos more

Don't pass on the tortilla soup 10/28/2002

I love this restaurant too and was glad to see it replace the KFC down the street. Huge portions for the money. But the best bet is the yummy tortilla soup with plenty of tender chicken and fresh cilantro. Yum. more

yummy carne asada! 10/3/2002

i love tacos guamas! the carne asada tacos are great and it's super cheap. my favorite place is the one on north broadway on capitol hill more

As good as it gets 9/25/2002

I've tried the Mexican food from Seattle to Tiajuana, and this place rates a 10 with me. I've tried at least a dozen entrees from the menu and have never been disappointed. Pros: Quality, Flavor, Service Cons: ? more

Que Bueno! 9/5/2002

If you're looking for authentic Mexico dining ambiance, look no further. And if you want some great food served quickly, this is the place. Washing it all down with some Negro Modelo while watching soccer in Spanish tops it all off! Pros: Fast service, Serve yourself salsa, Great beers Cons: Parking sucks more

Eat at Guaymas 8/8/2002

I think that Guaymas is one of the best mexican restaurant in seatlle. They are great people and we go there at least 3 times a week and they all know me and my family and my son and they always talk to my son like he understands and is going to set up and help. Anyone wanting authentic mexican food should go to one of the many stores. GREAT FOOD keep it up!! Pros: inexpensive, good food, good poeple Cons: rice greasy sometimes, ?, ? more

Que taqueria 7/26/2002

Guaymas has the most outstanding, and authentic south of the border fare. Try their carnitas tacos, their savory seafood soups, and their combination plates are not only filling, but tasty. Better than a big mac with a price to match more

Aye Carumba! 7/23/2002

what an amazing mouthful of food! From the guacamole to the Camarones de ajo - it's a festival of flavors! more

Great food, so-so service 7/11/2002

Been here twice now - the service is slow because of the constant crowd. I should never be without water for ten minutes at a Mexican restaurant, you know? The bar area is opened up to the street, with pleasant seating outside with a view of Green Lake. Chicken enchiladas were great, steak fajitas are great. A wide assortments of meats to choose from, actually. Prices are reasonable. Hopefully you get female service personnel; not only are they smokin, but on average they are more attentive as well. A good place to go when you need good Mexican food - for Seattle, anyway. Pros: Nice lake view, Outside seating Cons: Crowded more
