Tantric Grill is great . . . authentic Indian cuisine, with some innovative twists to keep it interesting. Their butter chicken rivals anything I had while growing up in India, an...

I tried this place when it first opened about a couple years ago, the food was pretty bad, and i haven't bothered going back (even though i live down the road and eat Indian food ...

Great find 12/17/2005

We dined at Tantric before seeing White Christmas at the Wang Centre. We wandered in because it was so cold we didn't want to walk too far. What a great surprise. The decor was very warm and eclectic. Our waitress, Jolie, was very accomodating and prompt. We ordered a spicy veg salad, somosas for dessert and a couple of entrees whose name escape MY memory but not my tastebud's. The martini choices were interesting and well made. We will definitely make this our before/after show spot. Pros: affordable, great location more

Amazing Food 5/17/2005

The ambience was average; mostly because we were next to the waiters station so we always had someone working too close to the table. The food was amazing; I had the chicken korma. The portions are smaller than most restaurants, but did not leave me hungry. Our waiter was great and made excellent recommendations. Drinks are definitely over priced. Overall, I would go back for the food! Pros: Incredible food, Excellent Service Cons: Expensive drinks, Small portions more

Crap 5/12/2005

I went to Tantric just this week with my b/f we were expecting delicious food but were sorely dissapointed. The portions were small, and all the food was bland. My Lamb Vindaloo tasted like i was eating leather and watery tomatoe sauce, the lamb samosa was so overcooked it was unpalatable, the pear martini tasted like watered down pear juice. My b/f said that his meal was really awful too. I guess its only good to those who have never tasted real authentic indian food------ the homemade kind. And the service was really slow. Pros: nice decor Cons: overpriced, small portions, slow service more

Tasty Indian Cuisine 1/10/2005

I thought this place was great. The Chicken Tikka Masala was melt in your mouth delicious. The Naan was fluffy and the drinks were yummy. I was so full by the time I left. I like the atmosphere -- it was low-key, not too crowded, but not empty either. Nice decor and comfortable seats. Service was good (not too pushy, but always around. It was just right! more

Mediocre at best 12/17/2004

Had dinner here last night - while the decor is nice, it simply cannot compete with other Boston Indian restaurants. It is like they are paying for their decor by charging more for lower quality food and skipping the standard freebies like the chutneys and pompadums! The one plus - the raspberry mojito was great, but it didn't make up for the luke-warm, mild lamb curry, overcooked grilled shrimp, or disappointing crab cakes. Pros: Decor, Location, Drinks Cons: , Service, Value more

Amzing 11/22/2004

Very nice bar! We had to sit at the bar to eat because the restaurant was totally full and there was even a wait. We were pleasantly surprised with the unusual drinks abd friendly bartenders, and mostly the food. They came very fast and the entrees were amazing. We were glad to see that the food was well-prepared, and they tasted better than other Indian restaurants I have been to. Definitely recommeded. Watch out for those ""special drinks"" called Tantrini - they are different every day, and before you know it, you loved it too much. Pros: popular, food more

JA 11/18/2004

The service was very slow, and our server had little knowledge of the menu. Everything was delayed getting to our table, including our drinks, despite the fact the restaurant was barely 1/3 full. When our food did arrive, the parathas were burnt to a crisp and our curries were barely warm. My gulab jamans were still frozen in the middle despite being drown in hot syrup. Overall a disappointing experience. more

Not worth it 10/11/2004

The service was horrible. We were basically ignored by our server the entire evening (and it wasn't even that busy). When the food arrived it was barely warm. I've had better dining experiences at chain restaurants. Pros: ambiance Cons: , food more

Different and Trendy!!! 9/6/2004

Awesome food and drinks! This one is not like your regular neighborhood Inidan restaurant. This is the level of Inidian food/atmophere we needed. Upscale and yet casual. I found this place by accident when I was heading for the club Rumor (right across) and got some good appetizers and drinks before clubbing. Nice bar!!! It seems like a cool bar to hang out even though it's a restaurant. They said it opens til 2am Fri/Saturdays...will go check it out definitely. People, try the appetizers!!! Pros: cool bar, food more

new trendy indian food 8/25/2004

Great, flavorful Indian food with imaginative cocktails in a trendy atmosphere. Very attentive service. The portion sizes were a little small so be sure to get an appetizer as well as an entree. Pros: food, drinks more
