Synergy Dance Studio

Years ago, we searched high and low for a dance studio that offered the right balance for my blossoming dancers. We tried them all and found that Synergy provided the best approach that made it fun for the kids but also focused on strong technique and development. Six years later we are still dancing with Synergy and loving it! The teachers are enthusiastic and caring and serve as great role models for my almost-teenagers. As a mother of two girls, it was important to me that engaging in dance as an activity did not equate to a ""pageant-like"" life where they were wearing skimpy outfits and way too much makeup. Owner Sherrie Sellers manages to instill an approach at her studio where age appropriate attire and dances are valued and expected. Exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship are a critical part of this group's success. The girls have opportunities to learn from an amazing collection of professionals, many who have spent time on Broadway and who have toured the world sharing their talents. The studio is warm and welcoming with extremely supportive families (completely unlike the reality show parents you see on tv!). In addition to top notch classes, Synergy offers fun summer camps, awesome musicals, and additional dance opportunities including biannual dance discovery trips. Synergy has become part of our family and we are so proud to be a part of this studio! more

My daughters have been at this studio for many years. We chose this studio because of the staff and the owner's love of dance and love of our children. They foster growth in all ranges of age and talent and provide many supplemental programs and activities for their students to grow and become more confident. I highly recommend this dance studio. I drive out of my way to bring my girls to Synergy for many hours a week for these reasons. more

We were fairly happy with my daughter's class until just recently and with the current situation, I will mention other disappointments. Our daughters teacher was ALWAYS at least 10 minutes late and then took about 10 minutes getting music, props, lighting etc ready so the 60 minute classes always ended up being about 40 min max in length. Classes were frequently run by subs and on occasion cancelled due to car trouble, sickness, etc. Our daughter performed in her first recital last year and had a ball.(at another dance school) Upon receiving an email asking parents of the Saturday class if attending a Thursday dress rehearsal was possible, assuming that most of us had chosen this day due to work schedules. I responded that we were not able to attend because of being out of town for a family illness-I guess having a father with leukemia newly diagnosed this year was not a valid reason to miss this very important dress rehearsal. We were informed that the dress rehearsal for my 3 year more

So after almost a year of my daugther attending her classes, she will be unable to perform in the dance recital because of us missing the dress rehearsal. I contacted the director and wastold that she must stand true to this policy-CRAZY. A wake up call for this so-called dance academy-these are 3 year old girls who are dancing in these Saturday morning classes for FUN, not to put on a skilled performance. Parents, do yourself and your child a favor and choose another more appropriate dance school, like Alisas or Tarrytown Dance that appreciates that for a child of this age, dance is all about having fun, coordination skills, socialization with same aged peers, etc.! more

I would definitely recommend this studio because they have a quality dance program that really cares about the students. All of their teachers are experienced and the instruction is first rate. The studio also has viewing windows and it's so fun to watch class. more

My daughter has been taking ballet and tap classes at Synergy Dance Studio for several years now. We've been very happy with the staff and the facility. All of the instructors are fantastic and treat the girls well. My daughter has enjoyed her lessons and the friends she has made in the class. Highly recommended. more
