Simply the best! All natural, too. 2/20/2009

I'm an immigrant from Europe and I have struggled for a while with all those Korean and ""French"" bakeries in the area, which all use US-made ingredients, so their pastries taste accordingly and are not much different from your Kroger deli pastries. But people in Swiss Alpine are French! And they travel to France every year to restock their tools, spices and secret ingredients. So their pastries taste very much like what you would enjoy in France. Cafe itself is pretty small, so I usually use them for take-outs. Prices are not super low, but aren?t high either, especially for this exceptional quality. Average pastry will run you $3-4, but there?s a way to cheat your way through the prices by purchasing smaller ?trial size? $1 pastries. This way you can also figure out what you like the most and buy that kind in larger size. Another trick ? buy some pastries in Swiss Alpine and walk 20 yards to nearby Starbucks. Coffee is better in Starbucks and they never complain about you bringing your own pastries. By the way, there?s a Russian Deli on the same plaza where they make pretty decent salads and soups and sell various frozen meat dumplings. So you can turn this trip into visiting France and Russia with a stopover at Starbucks :) Pros: Very good food. Can't taste any preservatives because there aren't any. Cons: Coffee is so-so. But Starbucks is right there. more

Best bakery around 8/18/2008

Excellent desserts. This small cafe has a nice selection of desserts for your sweet tooth. I tried the napoleon and it was wonderful. They also serve lunch. The owner (I assume) is a really nice and polite lady. Pros: Delicious desserts more

Great for take-out desserts 3/22/2008

I'd offer four stars for the desserts and staff, but the atmosphere and lack of accommodation bring it down to two: There are beautifully-made pastries, good sandwiches, weak coffee, limited beverages, and very pleasant service. (The lack of selection noted in another review may be more of a weekend thing- I've never had that problem on a weekday.) Friends have tried it for parties, but based on their experience and mine, I only recommend it for takeout. The restaurant itself is rather dim and cheerless, and with limited (and uncomfortable) indoor and outdoor seating, they don't really seem able- or inclined- to deal with groups. A shame, as this could be a good market for them to encourage. If they lightened the atmosphere, improved the drink selection, and provided more room and comfortable seating - this could be a four-star spot. In the meantime, pick up a box of their fruit tarts or cake slices and walk it down a couple storefronts to Starbucks. A terrific combination. Pros: Artful pastries; pleasant service Cons: Dim atmosphere; uncomfortable seating more

Authentic French patisserie! 3/17/2008

I'm not sure why anyone would complain about the lack of tissue paper for the box, or about the lack of selection. Perhaps this is not a business you should patronize if you are more concerned about quantity than quality. If, however, you are searching for an authentic patisserie experience on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, you will find excellent pastries, cakes, croissants and the like. My only suggestion is that the almod croissants would be more flavorful with a bit of almost paste in the center--but that is purely a personal preference. Otherwise, forget about the tissue paper and enjoy this little jewel of a surprise in Alpharetta. Pros: Quality Cons: It's in Alpharetta! more

Bakery Not even Close! 12/19/2007

I have to say that with all the rants and raves this bakery recieves I'm shocked that they're still in business. it's a cute ""Cafe"" but it's not even close to what you call a ""bakery"". They have little tables which are fine for people to sit and enjoy lunch or whatever it is they serve you that's fine but a very limited and I mean limited amount of Pastries. I viewed the case and 6 trays were empty with the names of the pastries still sitting there. Not good business when you have nothing to show for. Atleast when you go to Rocco's in the Village you get a variety of pastries, candies etc ... this wasn't like this at all. Most of all I purchased a view items just to see what they tasted like but before I did I opened the box to find only the pastries sitting in the box. No tissue paper of any sort in the box. I will not recommend this bakery unless they change things up a bit. Good Luck! Pros: Woman behind counter was very nice Cons: not enough pastries, no tissue paper in boxes more

Best little bakery in Alpharetta! 11/2/2007

I have been going to starbucks for a few months since my company moved offices and always wondered about the cute little bakery across. So i finaly went there and let me tell you.... it is the best in town. The athentic French bakery. The Owners are darling and sweet people, and even though it is pretty small inside its perfect for that one bad day just a lunch or some tea and desert by your self! The 2 cases of all types of deserts will have your head spinning trying to decide what it is that you want anything from apple pie tart - decedent chocolate cake or tiramisu, fruit tarts, cookies, or maybe the best cheese danish! They have a a great menu for lunch or breakfast... so take a minute to stop by and try it ... you wont regret it! Believe me! The atmoshphere there is like being somewhere in Europe and being from there my self i feel like back at home!\r Pros: Fast service, great food, wonderful atmosphere, great lunch getaway Cons: NONE! more

We adore this place!!!! 4/26/2006

We go here often! They have incredible desserts and they are quite a bargain. The owners are extremely nice people. It has a very european feel and many french-speakers wander in throughout the day (they know good bakeries!!). The chicken salad and the croque monsieur sandwich are also absolutely delicious!!!! Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly Service, Excellent Food more
