I asked M. D. for a tuneup because my car was starting hard. Rather than just do a tuneup, he diagnosed the starting problem and replaced the fuel pressure regulator. My car starts like new. more

The throw-out valve on my 04 Mazda RX-8 was damaged so I brought it to Sunset Auto Imports Service. The things that I liked the most were: 1. They are very friendly. (don't make you feel like you gave them more work to do for that day unlike some other shops that I know.) 2. They are on top of things and know what they are doing. (MD called me on every update about my car.) 3. Quick service. I will definitely come back to them for my future car repairs. more

I found Sunset on google and decided to check them out to take care of some belt issues. I called for a quote and was given a great price and the gentleman that took the call was very nice and genuine. When I arrived I went the wrong way and the mechanic directed me to the parking area (mechanics aren't really know for customer service but this guy was way cool). I recently took my Acura RSX to Sunset Auto Imports for maintenance, and they found some things that needed to be fixed. They called and explained exactly what was wrong, and gave me detailed answers for the questions I had. I had them perform the most important repairs and I am working on the third problem myself. They weren't able to get one of the parts in town and had to order it, so it took a couple days to get my car back, but they did an excellent job and gave me a full report of the work they did and the recommended additional service. I first heard about them a few years ago when I had some problems with a Chevy Venture minivan, and I searched and found the great reviews of Sunset Auto. I took the van there and they quickly found the cause of the problems. One of them was just a bad tire and another was caused by another shop putting on the rear brakes incorrectly (over time I found that the other shop has a pretty horrible reputation). Since the vehicle wasn't worth that much I didn't have them perform the less necessary repairs, but they fixed the rear brake problem and put on new front brakes. I'm very happy with the service I've received at Sunset Auto and the staff members are very knowledgeable, skilled, and polite. I've recommended their services to my friends and family and will continue to do so. more

I was referred to Sunset Auto by a friend who uses them for his Land Rover and BMW 3 and was instantly pleased with the superior customer service Stephen showed me by providing a written line by line quote of the maintenance/ repairs I wanted done. I own a MB C350, Audi TT roadster and non warranty visits to the dealers can be expensive. I have had several occasions on which I needed Sunset Auto, each one above satisfaction, and have made it my only shop upon finding out they fix domestic cars like my Chevy Monte Carlo. I've used Sunset Auto for several years - starting with my Nissan Frontier Truck and Porsche Boxster and more recently with my BMW. I've always found MD, Mike and Steven to be extremely helpful in explaining what the issues are and their recommendations. I had an issue with the Boxster and ended up bringing it back to them and since it was a return visit for the same issue it was at no charge. They stand behind their work 100. When I decide to get another car, I will ask their recommendations since they have a wealth of knowledge! I highly recommend them plus if you have AAA, they are rated highly with them and provide a discount. more

I'm a first time customer with Sunset Auto, and I chose them to repair my brakes based on many positive reviews. I feel they lived up to those reviews and even exceeded my expectations. As a young woman, it meant a lot to me that they treated me with respect and were fair with the cost of repair. It's a sad truth that auto repair shops often have a reputation of taking advantage of women, through overcharging them or adding on extra fees for unnecessary repairs. At Sunset Auto, I like how they thoroughly explained the estimate and what each fee was for. They didn't overcharge me for unnecessary repairs and their prices were very fair. MD is my first love and Steve is my second. They are the greatest. They are so nice and are constantly reassuring me that just because a car has trouble it isn't always major. To remain calm until they find the trouble then we can work on the fix. I have already recommended Sunset Auto to others and it was recommended to me. Great team and I appreciate them alot.
