I've always been satisfied with their service. They know what they're doing, don't overcharge or do anything underhanded. It's a no frills shop, which suits me well, no "salesmen"...

Good, Honest Service 11/23/2014

I always appreciate their expertise, honesty, and fairness. They always tell me about potential problems with my vehicle, but don't push me into an immediate "sale" a.k.aa repairs that I don't need at the moment. I really appreciate that and that is why I drive all the way across town for their service. Plus they are good folks and care about me and my family. more

Taking Care of Me 11/1/2014

I had my front brakes changed here in late May. I started having a awful sounding squealing coming out of the front in September. I thought my struts needed to be changed. Stewart Auto Service looked at my vehicle, adjusted the brake calipers, and confirmed that I did not need struts at this time. Thanks for saving me money Norman. more

The routine service appointment disclosed a potential danger of which I was unaware and promptly had repaired. The right rear tire was punctured by screw and almost flat. Thanks for careful and honest service. more

  • Stewart Auto Service has a tradition of quality service dating back to 1971 when Russell Stewart started the business. He was previously employed as shop foreman at Owen's Motor Service for eighteen years. Owen's Motor Service was one of the largest auto repair facilities in Springfield at the time. Russell's career began after graduating from an auto repair technical college in Chicago, IL. He then worked at a Ford dealership before serving in the Marines where he worked in the motor pool. He remained active in the business until retirement. In 1995, the second generation took over as his son, Norm Stewart, became president and manager. Norm started working at Owen's Motor Service during summer vacations when he was 13 years old, doing clean-up chores and helping out. After graduating from Auto Mechanics Class at Graff Vo-Tech, he began working at Stewart Auto Service, serving in various positions. The third generation is now active in the business.
