Best

I absolutely love this place. The restaurant is famous for their Gumbo and Smokey Fried chicken which are both amazing but my personal favorite is the Shrimp N'awlins! It is sooo...

Worst

i dont feel bad now...i went to stevies a month ago, the place was empty, few at the bar....ordered my usual, it was fine..had a nice time....in and out in a hour........NOW....we...

not allowed to complain... 4/14/2005

i've been here plenty of times and noticed they have a high employment turnover rate. i now know why. who would want to work there? the managment is mean and disrespectful. instead of serving me, the paying customer, they argue and gossip about the rest of the staff. the bar is more of a reality show than a restaurant. i tried to complain to the managers but they are the bartenders and they are also boyfriend and girlfriend. i was in a lose lose situation. overall the food is great, the wait staff is good, and the music is enjoyable but stay away from the bar/managment. Pros: food, music Cons: bar , managers more

Not New Orleans - but not bad 3/21/2005

Went there for lunch with my wife. Had fried chicken which was quite good. Since it was lunch we were able to get the specials which were about much cheaper than the entrees which seemed very overpriced for the type of food and the location. The only bad part is they had one waitress for the entire restaurant. She did a good job but every thing was slowed down because of the lack of help. The food was decent, too bad we didn't feel welcome there. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Live music Cons: overpriced, bad service, not friendly more

Horrible Management 3/16/2005

I had been eyeing this place for a while before my husband and I went in, as it looked great from the outside and I love Cajun food. Though it was empty, we were seated at an awkward table in the middle of a walkway. We asked the waiter, if we could move. He said the manager had told him to seat us there. I asked if he could ask to move us, and an expression of what can only be described as fear came across his face. I said I would ask personally to save him. The manager told us all the tables were reserved (there were 35+ all empty). He was so incredibly rude I couldn't believe it. We went back to our horrible table for about five minutes and left. I absolutely won't go there again. Cons: Management/Service more

Not to pile on but... 2/16/2005

I read the reviews and still went in with an open mind. What my wife and I got was one of the best meals outside of Mom's kitchen, an excellent show in a down-home yet elegant setting, and some of the worst treatment I've ever experienced. Let me begin by stating that our waitress was top notch! The manager and owner (who was present on this night) however, were terrible. As an African-American over 30 I'm sick and tired of African-American establishments with arbitrary dress codes (friends of the management excluded of course!) and nouveau riche, bourgeois behavior towards its patrons. What a waste... Pros: food, wait staff, environment Cons: managment more

THANK GOD 10/12/2004

It's really disappointing & frustrating when you like to go to restaurants and you don't get the service and the quality of food you expect & deserve for the price you pay. THANK GOD those times we (8-10 people) went to Stevies, I guess the chef & crew were inspired to cook & so were the waiters who were accomodating. We're blessed that each time went there to eat, our angels sent good, patient, kind & service oriented waiters; even when it gets packed. more

Good food....but.... 8/27/2004

The first time I went to Stevie's, it was a fun family gathering. The food is GREAT. It wasnt until I wanted to host my own birthday party that I ran into trouble. FYI don't arrive fashionably late (10 minutes), or they will promptly give your table away and put you in the back of the line. The management is terrible and RUDE, and that is really disappointing considering I wanted to return for the food. Recently I returned for early dinner, which seems to be the best time to go. The portions are huge, so you'll definitely leave with a doggy bag. Overall, I would suggest going early (5:30-7:30ish), or being ON TIME for RESERVATIONS you have during live music hour or else you will have major problems with the manager. Pros: food portions, live music Cons: , management more

Great Time 5/11/2003

My wife and I went to Steve's for the first time last Friday, and had a great time! The food was terrific, the service was great, and the band, ""Groove Potion"", provided some of the best live music I've heard in years! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes good music, creole food, funky atmosphere, and a really good time! Incidently, we arrived for dinner at 7:30, were seated promptly, were finished eating by 8:45. Eve though the music didn't start until about 9:15, we stayed until 11 enjoying the band (granted, we did buy a few more beers) but no one gave us any pressure about leaving. The staff and management coundn't have been nicer. This is a reall great place and we will defintely return! Pros: Food, Music Cons: Noisy, Not for kids more
