They will sell you a 'membership' plan to do 'free' maintenance and then find problems with your system. They shut down our heating system and wanted to replace the entire system several weeks later (two weeks without an HVAC!!!), claiming that it was a CO hazard. We have CO detectors in the home, including a very expensive low level detector that has NOT gone off at even the sub 25 ppm level. We had a second opinion done that found no leaks! This company took our money for the membership, and was only interested in installing a new HVAC system, oh and maintaining their 'excellent customer service rating.' To do this they were willing to shut our heating system down, without warning or any advance notice, and wait for us to schedule another appointment to quote us a price to replace the entire system. In my opinion, this is a shameful practice and it is too bad that there are so many untrustworthy and unethical HVAC businesses around, masquerading as good companies with A Plus BBB ratings. We wanted our story to be told so that it might keep others from trusting this company. If you have an older system, and are not ready to be forced into buying a new system, AVOID Stark Heating and Air. Excellence = HONESTY. Always has and always will. more

I've worked in construction for a very long time. Bought a house that needed central A/C. They quoted me a price and did most of the work, said they were done ""well what about these 4 rooms in the house?"" uh um well we guess we'll do those too (it's in the contract). So I had to tell them how to route. Did not get it in 2 rooms finally said forget it but did not get a credit. Put condensate line right next to foundation, foundation plus water not good. They put blown in insulation in the attic but would not leave cause they wanted to get to next job next day were offending us & neighbors til 10:30 pm. My granddaughter ended up in the hospital from breathing fibers from the insulation that were floating around in the house. Only cleaned up after themselves in part of the house I did the rest. They have not returned subsequent calls and it's time for 1 year warranty check. Yes the system is very efficient. Yes I will call them again because I think they smashed 1 of the ducts. Let's see if they come out. They did come highly recommended. more

We have been Stark customers for six years now. We started off just getting our systems tuned-up periodically, then we ended up buying an entire new system from them about two years into it. They signed us up for a maintenance club membership and it included two tune-ups and lots of discounts on anything that needed repairs. We have gotten nothing but excellent service from Stark Air and they have always honored all of their guarantees. I refer all of my friends to Stark and they all love them too. If you're looking for an ac contractor, do your research! Alot of them promise a lot and then never deliver. Stark is a company that I trust. Pros: Excellent service, nice and clean-cut technicians Cons: none! more
