possibly the sorriest example of a furniture store weve ever witnessed. the place is run like a home for the criminally insane. dirty and filthy showroom. people are screaming like retards. the owner is holed up in an office counting his employees money he pilfered from them. who pays people 1 percent in furniture except a moral less idiot? somebody can work there for years and still be screwed by these theives. This company has done business with my family for many years. They even know us by name. If they don't have what you want on the floor, they will order it for you. Local businesses don't come any better than this place. They are professional and deliver anywhere in the New Orleans area. Unkind words must come from disgruntled or fired employees. My auntie bought a mattress from St. Germain. they didnt tell her that it was the one on the floor. they delivered it and it was discolored and grey because it had been out on their floor uncovered for God knows how long catching all of that dirt coming in off Belle Chase. they are really a lovable goofy bunch and will keep you laughing. down homey family biz with plenty of stock characters on the floor. problem is, when it comes time to see if somethings in stock, they start yelling to each other going through a chain of up to six people! what ever happened to computerized inventory?! our saleswoman scratched her head and said our bedroom set might be in! then the manager a sweet elderly lady said the same thing! than a warehouse guy drinking a coke walks up and said exactly the same thing! ""it might be in""! this went on for a half hour and we thought they were pulling a joke on me and my husband, but it was for real! how is this possible?! we had a good experience here. the staff was very down to earth. you felt like you were at a crawfish boil in aunt thelmas back yard. it was very stress free. we browsed for two hours and werent harrassed by an approching salesman even once! they were all at the desk having a meeting and allowed you to shop in peace. the selection wasnt great but the prices were almost as low as frankie and johnies. it was kind of self serve, and the salesman we waved dwon told us it was a simple operation that didnt even need a manager. too much emphasis is put on a physical appearance and atmoshere. if you have a big building ,you can just drop down random furniture and let people find stuff like a scavenger hunt. very unpretentious. one saleswoman was wearing flip flops! fun place for sure Pros: layed back atmosphere. employees were having fun Cons: wish they were open later more

We had always heard the jingle from grandpa: st. germains gonna treat you right, the quality always exceeds the price. did we have another thing coming! the furniture was overpriced particle board and low grade microfiber. the price far exceeded the quality, and they treated us like s&^%! the saleswoman was ignorant and loud. the person claiming to be the manager couldnt even knock a few dollars off of a clearly stained floor model. we now shop across the street at furniture mart, a place that does treat the customer right and gives great quality. Absolutely horrible shopping here! The woamn in the window rtaking our money currsed out my wife and the salesman. we wanted to speak to a manager, but they sent over some older heavy woman to apologize and she said she couldnt do anything because the woman was a sister in law! we dont need to be cursed out when we are giving somebody our hard earned cash for furniture. we will shop at rooms to go or anywhere else from now on. We waited 4 months for a dining room set that this idiot manager[Pat], had said was in stock. when they delivered it, it was the wrong set AND 3 of the chairs had broken legs. they sent out a tech who tried to ""color"" the chairs legs with a marks-a-lot after we agreed to keep the set because now they said the original set was no longer being made! the owner said that he ""thought"" there were three in his warehouse, possibly to cover for his idiot manager. terrible experience. the place is filthy and looks like a garage with furniture piled up randomly. some fat guy with a gray beard was cursing on the phone in a shrill voice. we will never go back!!!!!
