I have taken all three of my dogs to Spicewood and they have impressed me time and time again. They have gone out of their way to care for my pets. The vet returned my message on a sunday and was very helpful i have been to other vets and this place is the best in austin thank you Dr. B for all your help and love for our pets Pros: Everything more

Great First Experience 11/5/2009

I have a toy poodle and try to use my old vet in Boerne as much as possible since I have a great relationship with him. However, my dog was having stomach issues and I couldn't make the 2 hour drive to see my vet, so I looked up Spicewood Springs and found they had good reviews, so I made the appointment. The front desk staff were friendly, and I didn't have to wait too long to be seen for my 4:30PM appointment. The vet techs were all very nice and treated my dog lovingly. Then I got to meet Dr. Bates, who introduced herself to me using her first name, which I found nice. She then took the time to first love on my dog, talk to her, and let my dog give her kisses. She's young but professional, explained everything to me, and was very sweet. You could tell she cared for the animals she was treating and liked what she did. They set me up with proper meds, explained how to administer them, and patiently answered my questions. Although I'll still try to go back to my vet in my hometown if possible, I know that if I ever need an Austin vet, Dr. Bates at Spicewood Springs will be the vet I'll trust my dog to. Granted, this was only my first time at this office, but I believe in first impressions, and Dr. Bates made a great first impression on me! Thank you, Dr. Bates! Pros: Caring vet, nice vet techs Cons: None so far more

Outstanding Service and Care 10/17/2008

I recently moved to Austin and needed to find a vet quickly since my dog got sick. After reading review, after review I picked Spicewood Springs for the location. We saw Dr. Wagner and she was great! She took so much time to go over my dogs health, telling me about things that I need to know about living in Austin with a dog, she and her assistant, Courtney, made sure I knew where the nearest emergency vet was.... she made me feel that she truly cared. They were very gentle and loving with my dog as he has an ear infection and in a lot of pain.\r The office was very clean, the staff friendly, and I was amazed at how reasonably priced they are. Good parking too. I highly recommend Dr. Wagner to anyone in search of a new vet!\r Pros: Caring, Service, Parking, Price more

Absolute best vet period. 7/15/2008

Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital is amazing. \r Dr. Benaryeh is extremely knowledgeable, patient, truly caring and great with both people and our animals. I have been taking my dog, a Puggle, to see him for about 2 years now. I had an amazing vet before I moved here and was very sad to try a new one. After great recommendations I went here and have been extremely happy every since. My first visit was when my dog was only a 3-4 month old puppy; Dr. B provided patient guidance and advice without annoyance to what I can now look back on as silly ""first time parent"" questions! Besides regular shots, we had our puppy neutered and go through a cherry eye surgery. \r When we first encountered the symptoms of Cherry Eye we were very concerned as it can be truly alarming when you are unsure of what it is. The first symptom appeared on a weekend and after waiting a day we felt we absolutely had to see Dr. B. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday and there was an ice storm. While we were willing to brave the weather, we assumed they would not be open and would not take us so urgently without an appointment. I will never doubt Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital again. As I've said, they are truly caring! They told us to come in as soon as possible. We were worried about our puppy but Dr. B explained how we could try drops and surgery would be a later option. \r Dr. B has always been understanding about our concerns, no matter how silly they have been. He has shown genuine care for our pet. The entire staff at Spicewood is amazing. They have been responsive to questions, I have never waited long for my appointments, they are accommodating, helpful in providing records, etc. \r I simply can't give enough praise to this establishment, the staff and the Doctors. Pros: Great facility, efficient staff, responsive, talented, caring. more

Fantastic Vet, Caring Staff, Great Location! 6/3/2008

Since we moved back to Austin two years ago, we've been taking our dog to Dr. Benaryeh because he came highly recommended to us by some friends. I checked him out on their website and he seemed to have great credentials so we gave it a try and we have been SO PLEASED with the care our dog has received from Dr. B and his staff. From the routine to the more complicated, Dr. B can handle any medical issue with compassion, knowledge and comprehensive care. Just recently we discovered that our dog has what could be a life-long although managable condition, and Dr. B has paved a course of treatment that we can handle and that will help our sweet dog get better. He is always kind enough to call us and let us know personally what the issue is and how we can solve it together. Just as you want a great physician with a kind personality and good demeanor, you want the same from your vet and you get that with Dr. Benaryeh. We've been in three different cities with our dog and seen at least five other vets and Dr. B has been our favorite. If you want someone intelligent, kind and considerate caring for your lovable pet, then you need to see Dr. Benaryeh. Pros: intelligent, caring vet; great boarding; great location; great hours more

Top Notch Expertise and Excellent Bedside Manner 2/7/2008

We've been taking our dog, Blue, here for several years now after having gone to another local vet. The first vet was fine, but when we switched to Spicewood it was immediately noticeable that the level of knowledge and care given to Blue was far superior than what we'd experienced in the past. Regardless of the question, big or small, Dr. Benaryeh always always takes his time to answer us in depth. We always feel that Blue is in excellent hands and should anything happen his health that Dr. Benaryeh is really the best person to advise us on our options. He always seems to know about the latest trends and techniques in animal health care. We've also boarded our dog at Spicewood Animal Hospital on many occasions and he is super happy both when we drop him off and pick him up. We've had nothing but excellent experiences with this veterinary practice. more

Great vet with a human touch 2/5/2008

Our dogs have been clients of Dr. Benaryeh since he bought the practice 3 years ago. During that time, one pet required several complicated medical procedures. There are 3 reasons why I'd recommend Dr. B to anyone without reservation:\r \r 1) He knows his stuff. Dr. B is board certified. There are only 2 other vets in Austin with that credential. One has to be invited to sit for the national exam, and it has a 70% failure rate.\r \r 2) He presents the full range of solutions. There's rarely only one option with medical care, and he takes the time to explain all the choices and then offers you his opinion if you want it. In my experience, he generally recommends the most affordable and reasonable solution.\r \r 3) He's interested in his human clients too. When our dog had cancer last year and the prognosis was not good, Dr. B. called us personally to explain what was happening, even though Abby was in a specialty vet hospital and technically not even in his care. He understands that pets are members of the family and treats their owners accordingly.\r Pros: Great service, reasonable prices more

A wonderful Vet! 2/1/2008

I love taking my dog to this clinic. They truly care about the animals and Dr. Benaryeh talked to me in easy to understand terms. He didn't throw out a bunch of scientific jargon, but rather explained all the options and gave me enough info to make a decision without being overwhelmed. I could tell he really cared about giving my dog the best possible treatment. I would not take my animals anywhere else!\r \r more

Great personal attention to the animals, nickel and dime the pet owner 8/31/2007

I've been using this vet office for 10 years and I've always been very happy with the care our pets have been given. Something new, they tried to give our cat some cat treats, to try and give him something nice to remeber the usual scary trip to the vets office. He never has cared for them so they then tried catnip which he usually loves, this time he could have cared less. I think this is a great idea, it might work for some animals. My only drawback to this visit was the feeling I was being sold product after product. Have the teeth cleaned for an outrageous amount of money, check out the dirt in his ear. Actually being charged for the medicine for his ear before they had even gotten the results from looking under the microscope, prepay for the fecal test. That doesn't sit well with me. Personal care, attention to the animal all A+ but feeling like I was at a used car lot not good. Pros: Great attention to the animal during the exam Cons: Trying to push tests, procedures and products more

The Spicewood Springs Veterinary Clinic is great! All of the vets we've had contact with there have been fantastic, as are the vet-techs. They're always really good with both our dogs, treat them with love and affection, and have been nothing but fantastic and hard-working for us when we've needed them. Check them out! You won't be sorry. Pros: Great Staff, Good Parking, Fantastic Vets more
