Editorial review from Citysearch 9/15/2012

I went in for a routine cleaning; I wasn't expecting the best results since I hadn't been to a dentist since around 2006. I ended up having three small cavities (expected). He went on to also tell me that I should get a crown on a filling from my childhood because it would crack. Granted, he told me it could be next week or up to 10 years. However, he set up an appointment for January and said we could do everything (routine cleaning and cavities included) at that time. He didn't offer to fill my cavities then or set up an appointment within the next month (he knew my health insurance would be ending August 31). Although he did sit and talk with me about the appointment and answer all of my questions, we did it in the ""waiting room""/""front desk""/""check out"". My information (though none of it really something I completely needed to find confidential) was put out there for any one in the ""waiting room"" to hear. Also, you can see into every single ""exam room"" from the ""waiting room"". Pretty ridiculous.\r \r After all of this, I decided that I wanted to get a second opinion about the crown ($500 even with my insurance - a $1000 procedure without insurance). When I went to get complete copies of my records from Bright Smile Dentistry a week or so later, I made sure to make note of their hours before going; they opened at 8am. I arrived at 8:30 but ended up having to wait in the car for 15 minutes. I also called them at 8:40 and was put on hold for 5 minutes before I saw someone in scrubs walk up to the door, unlock it and go in - I just hung up on the terrible hold music I listened to for 4.9 consecutive minutes. It took a reasonable amount of time to get my records, but neither of the assistants that came in while I was there were friendly. \r \r Upon going to a new dentist (Dr. Jeffrey Austin on S. Berry), I provided the xrays, but he couldn't tell anything from the fuzzy xrays BSFD provided. He took a new xray and said he would never have even noticed that the old filling had any problems or believed that something would need to be done about it even remotely soon. \r \r Final point: Bright Smiles (Decay Underneath) mentioned that I wouldn't need to worry about my wisdom teeth for about a year though once they come in I will want to have them all taken out because they are in my nerve canals... or something like that. I ended up having a lot of pain in my upper left wisdom tooth. The next week. I digress. Dr. Austin explained that wisdom teeth are extremely unpredictable. I should be fine, though I might have minor pain - oralgel would help with the discomfort until insurance could cover the procedure. more

great experience 4/7/2012

I needed a dentist asap for a broken tooth but they were able to see me the next day. I was hesitant after I made the appointment because I found a few bad reviews online but I'm very happy to say everything was great. Service was excellent and staff was very friendly. Dr. J did a great job yanking my tricky tooth, which was broken at the root. They gave me plenty of gas and painkillers to make it easier. Will go back soon for a follow up. more

PLEASE Do Not Take Your Children Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10/10/2007

This was the worst experience ever. My son was put to sleep here and was supposed to have his teeth fixed!!! The dentist filled two teeth that were abscessed and pulled out his front tooth without telling me and threw it in the TRASH!!!! Since august of 2007 his abscesses are still not going away and I have went to a new dentist to find out that my son is now going to have to be put to sleep AGAIN and have two back teeth pulled as well as a cavity filled that the dentist at this office didnt even bother to fix!!! When I told bright smiles about this they told me OH WELL THEY WERE BABY TEETH AND WOULD FALL OUT ANYWAY, THEY DONT CARE!!!!! I was horrrified at how smartellic and uncaring these dentist are. Also the fillings they did on my daughter ( which i think didnt need to be done, but they are not giving me copies of the xrays so I dont know for sure) keep falling out!!! My children are horrified of dentist now, and are going through pain and having to go through this experience all over again because of Dr.Jarjoura and his staff here. I have called the news stations in hope they will investigate how many other poor kids have had problems here. I am also writing the board of dentistry. I just dont want to see any other kids go through what mine have..... Please take your precious children to a dentist that truly cares and knows what they are doing!!!!! There is so much more to my story but it would take forever to write it all........... Cons: Smartellics, unprofessional, no clue on dental procedures, late for work more
