Good local hospital 11/22/2005

I've heard not so great things about this hospital but I have had good luck with them. I've had an MRI there as well as outpatient surgery. Both times I have found their staff to be friendly and willing to help. I've had to call them with questions about billing also and they were very cooperative and called me back right away. I would recommend them to friends or family. more

Thanks for a great experience 11/18/2005

My daughter was born at Sparrow. The nurses were very helpful to my wife and daughter. The child security system tehy employ really helps to ease new parent fears. They were also lenient in allowing our families to visit my wife and daughter just after her cesearean as there was no one else in the recovery room besides us. Also, they provided a lot of pre natal support through the Expectant Parent's Organization, and support with other things, like breastfeeding at no charge. more

Attentive Care 10/19/2005

I was in Sparrow Hospital in late April for a major accident. I stayed in the orthopedic ward for 6 days. The nurses were amazing. They took care of everything I needed. The interns for the nurses helped a lot. I had 2 surgeries and everyone made it as easy as possible. As well as making sure I had a vegetarian diet. The only problem I had was they did not know how to address my Buddhist faith and when they asked religious belief, the chaplains helper freaked out instead of offering to help if he could. But the doctors and nurses and nutritutionist were very accomodating and helpful in a difficult time. PROS: CONS: Religous consideration more

Suprised with the positive reviews 9/21/2005

I've been to Sparrow many times before, for when my child had been sick and our doctor was away. We went to the emergency room, and the "doctors" or most likely medical students, didn't know what they were talking about. They couldn't even tell my child that the rash on the thigh was from poison ivy! Very pricey... not helpful. more

good, quality care. 9/4/2005

Sparrow hospital is a good quality local hospital and has a full slate of services to help you in your time of need. The nurse to patient ratio is top of the line and their ER never seems to be too busy. I have visited this hospital twice in the emergency room and both times I had no issues with their care or service. It is nice a clean aswell. more

good care 7/27/2005

We have used Sparrow Hospital several times and have always been pleased with the care. The doctors and nureses are very knowledgeable. You do usually need someone there if you are in for a long time though. I needed someone to help because they were short staffed. Which seems to be a bit of a problem. I think that is with any hospital though. I would highly recommend Sparrow. They have now added a new parking ramp which helps a lot with the parking. more
