I saw Dr. Wilmouth about acne scars and I was very open to all options. He recommended the Smooth Beam laser and said it was the ""gold standard."" I was told that 2 treatments would be enough to see good results and visible improvement. Dr. Wilmouth was professional and knowledgeable, but I would not describe him as friendly in any way. He rarely smiled and actually only completed one of the treatments- the other one was done by a lady who he taught right then and there. I really value friendliness in any service and I feel like it can turn an okay experience into a much better one. I was disappointed that I was not told in advance that a doctor would not be performing all the treatments, especially my first visit. The reception staff were a let down too- they all seemed to have an ""I have better things to do than talk to you"" attitude. The biggest let down? The treatments did absolutely nothing for me. I'm really surprised that someone had a bad experience at the Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center. Every experience I've ever had has been nothing but pleasant. All of the front office staff, Doctors, and Nurses that I've ever seen have been super friendly and helpful. I wonder if the reviewer ""daisy216"" was confused, and thought she was writing a review for ""Raleigh Dermatology,"" because she mentions ""Raleigh Dermatology"" instead of ""The Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center."" I really can't imagine anyone not having a great experience there. I've been to 3 other Dermatologists before seeing Dr. Wilmoth and wasn't real thrilled with the other Physicians. But I kept trying to find someone I would really like, and I'm so thankful that I went to see Dr. Wilmoth. He is absolutely wonderful. The medicine that was prescribed to me was not covered by my insurance company. I tried more than once to call and have a new prescription filled. The first time the woman told me doctor would get back to me. Several days went by. The second time I spoke with an employee that was very rude and actually laughed at me when I told her I didn't have my pharmacy # immediately available. She asked for my phone number and said she'd call back, but never did.\r \r There are friendlier, more professional environments one can take their business to. Dr. Challgren did the Botox...I even went back, explaining how this had never happened before, and not only did he charge me again, the vial of Botox he used was dated (with a Sharpie) showing it was over a week old!!!! And it didn't work again, AND his hands smelled like he just ate a deli sandwhich and it made me nauseaus. Cons: inexperience more

I first learned about the practice through citysearch... and i'm glad that I did. At first I was skeptical because the first person to answer the phone didn't sound very friendly, but after that the service was excellent! Tracy and Susan were very informative and had great personalities as well. we were in and out in 30 minutes.... i don't EVER think i've gone through an appointment that fast!!! I have been a patient here since 1991, when it use to be Miller Dermatology. I wouldn't go to any other dermatologist. They treat my entire family, including my 5 year old. Great office staff, everyone has always been extremely helpful and nice. They can handle anything from cysts, mole/skin checks to laser hair removal. I have been seen by Dr. Wilmoth and Dr. Challgren and like them both. more

After my appointment with Dr Wilmoth, I was absolutely impressed! He was the most professional and caring doctor I have ever seen. The staff was friendly and helpful and I highly recommend this practice to anyone!! more

I went with high expectations based on the reviews from other clients but my experience was not very good. I don't think Dr. Willmoth has very good bed side maners. He did not seem personal at all. If your looking for quick in and out treatment then this place is for you if you want your doctor to actually act like they care about you and not like your just another number then I would not recomend this Dr. more

Laser Hair Removal in Raleigh gives you several options. I would have never thought that my dermatologist offered this serviced but recently during a visit i learned just that. I'm removing the hair off my legs and Dr. Wilmoth does incredible work. Their service is cost effective and it works! Pros: intelligent staff, multiple products, nice people more

I have lived in Raleigh for about 8 months now and when it came to establishing new doctors I wanted the best in town. Thats when I ran across The Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center and Dr. Wilmoth. On my first visit the staff was very friendly and helpful. My appointment was prompt and Dr. Wilmoth was very knowledgable and informative. Since my visit I have referred several friends and they have all had great experiences. They actually saved my friend from Skin Cancer. If you need a Dermatologist you should see these guys. i recently visited the Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center for dermatology needs and while I was there, my doctor...Dr. Wilmoth immediately noticed a small mole on my arm that turned out to be Melanoma cancer. Very much caught by surprise, Dr. Wilmoth did not hesitate doing a biopsy and removed the spot from my arm within a week.
