in college, my then boyfriend now husband, and his friends went here all the time... they would get the all you can eat platters.... then sit and stuff themselves for hours. the girlfriends would all sit around nibbling on fries and wondering how much longer it was going to last... I did a lot of complaining about sonny's in college... i might have even said I hated it.... I think that was mostly because every trip lasted hours and hours, and I'd be disgusted by the sight of 4 men shoveling their faces.... but now, now that we live in a town with no sonny's, I can be more open and truthful about it. the food, as i said then, is not very good. there is lots of it, but its just not very good. the sauce is delicious. I'll give you that. the sweet sauce is very tasty. the meat is all dry and gross, the 'bread' is... like sponges soaked in yellow vegetable thats supposed to look like butter... its not that horrible, if you get the roast chicken or something and coat it in sauce its okay. but really. its just not that good. you hear that honey? its NOT that GOOD!!!
