Full of ill-tempered red necks and racists 1/8/2008

While dining at Sneakers one night with two of my business contacts I was entertaining from out of town, some guy outside harassed us diners by twice honking what sounded like a train horn from his car. That wasn't the problem: What WAS the problem was two moronic patrons who thought they were representing us diners' best interests by shouting ""That is BULLSH**!"" and ""You ni**er!"" at the car. My contacts and I paid our bill and left immediately. If this is what we can expect of the rank-and-file clientele of Sneakers--nothing more than unemployed Klan lackeys--, then Sneakers can kiss my a$$. I'm telling you up front this is a negative review for both Citysearch and Sneakers. Pros: Many TV's. Large, open area. Cons: Mgmt often neglects supervisor responsiblities to adhere to sanitary conditions and customer satisfaction. Unless it's a slow football day, you will not be enjoying any other sport. more

Wrong Location 7/5/2003

First of all unless I have been blind while in Sneakers on Atlantic Blvd I have NOT seen any outdoor dining. That location sits in a shopping center and I haven't seen anything outdoor. However, the Sneakers at the beach in Jax Beach does have outdoor dining. more

The Beach Sneakers is beautiful, good location, surprizing that they have terrific food and a fun staff. All ages are welcome but they must conform to the dress code, liquor laws and just behave. Very upscale place for Jacksonville Beach, don't think sports bar with Sneakers - think great restaurant with sports. Pros: huge tvs, beautiful place, good food Cons: stricy dress code more

overpriced but the got the satellite 1/18/2003

Great sports Bar. Period. horribly small, way overpriced weak cocktails. Gin and Tonic $6.00. Eat at home and get drunk at the ritz beforehand. Food is lousy at best and service is dismal every time I go there. We, my out of state friends and myself, go there to catch the games on satellite. Try BW-3s for a much much more fun and fan type environment. PS- no way the memoribilia is real- obvious forgeries on merchandise- from someone who knows more

Not Even In The Top 20 1/13/2003

Putting Sneakers Sports Grill as the 2nd best steak in Jacksonville is a joke. Putting Ruth Chris is also a joke but that's another email. The cut of meat was no better than a standard steakhouse strip, thin, little marbling with the texture of frozen leftovers. Great bar! Just not the 2nd best in town! more

ok, but not better steak than outback, sorry. i have had poor service at the sneakers (beach) but maybe it was too busy. service has been much better at atlantic & st john's bluff more

This place fits the bill for a sports bar. I travel the west coast and like the feel of this place. Being a stranger to all towns I go to on business it's nice to feel welcome. Not that over sweet stuff, just pleasant courtesy. Food's great. more

Fun sports bar 12/17/2002

A fun sports bar in the heart of the beaches. Lots of other bars/clubs around the area, so a fun place to go out. It's huge, but tons of tvs and places to sit. more

What Kinda Scam is this! 10/25/2002

What kind of Scam is Sneakers running on City Search? First they win best sports bar, which I can live with because they have a nice set up, but then I see then on all these other lists! Best Steak in Jacksonville and Sneakers is on the list! You have to be kidding me! If you believe what you see on these rankings then technically Sneaker is the only place in town you ever have to go since they are supposed to be ""the best"" at everything: Best Ice Cream, Sneakers; Best Place to take your Kids; Sneakers; Best place to Bowl, Sneakers! They have no credibilty in my eyes. Do what I did and part ways with them. There service is horrible, there food is poor and yet they keeo finding there way into the top ten? Give me a break. Pros: Location, Location, Location Cons: Portions are Small, Customer Service, prices more

This place was rated second in Jacksonville for steaks. According to the pole Sneakers was beat only be Ruth's Chris? What about Tree Steakhouse, Outback and Longhorn. I would go to Sneakers for beer, munchies and sports, but steak? C'mon now. Pros: good beer selection Cons: service was slow more

Decent food but the waitstaff is terrible! Don't go with kids - unless you start off with a pitcher, the waitress will ignore you. Gave the Atlantic Ave. store three tries - each time was a disaster. Definately not a ""family"" place - more for college kids. more

Awesome 8/25/2002

I go to Sneakers at the beach. The place is great! The TVs are so big and there are so many. And they do not put the ""same stuff"" on. They had the Ohio State game on the big screen! I haven't been to a sports bar before this wit an Ohio game on. And it isn't even a typical sports bar, they have non-smoking! It is larger then the smoking. This means the whole family can go. Oh yeah, the food is killer too. Never once had I had something there that didn't look awesome. The whole family enjoys Sneakers. Pros: Great Parking, Great Service, Great food more

Food, Football & Fun 8/17/2002

I have to disagree with the last rating of Sneakers. The food that I had was awesome. Had some chicken nachos that, according to my server, was made with chicken chili that was homemade. Watching football games there....well, there is nothing like it. Oh, I also have to say that watching the scenery (if you know what I mean) is also very enjoyable. That's why Sneaker's has so many televisions; to distract you from the crummy food. Greasy fries, tasteless sandwiches...all sizzle and no steak. Many other much better dining spots at the beach. more
