Smart Vets and a Great Staff! 11/16/2009

We think Dr G and Dr Smith are the BEST! They took very good care of our dog that had been wrongly diagnosised by a local vet in Englewood. We would never go anywhere else. Their prices are very fair! As for the other complaints on this site in regards to the fees...you get what you pay for. more

Very Caring Staff!!! 7/26/2009

I have never had a better visit at the vets office. I was given a sprite while I waited and the receptionist was great. The nurse was helpful and very compassianate with my cat. She made us feel welcome. The doctor was funny and made sure he answered all my questions. If you are looking for a vet this is the place to go. I was able to get a whole year of coverage for my cat for only $500. That even included heartworm prevention...who knew cats needed that stuff. Pros: Best Vet ever!! Cons: The wait was a little long. more

They Care About Your Money, Not Your Pet 7/17/2009

I called to have my dog put down ? they told me it would be $52 to see the doc, then the rest of the price would be by weight. "He's 25 pounds. How much would it be?" "I can't tell you that. You'll have to come in and see the doctor." I replied, "Well then just give me a general price range, how much is it going to be over the $50? A hundred? Five hundred? A thousand?" "I can't tell you that, you need to come in." I hung up. What jerks. I'm about to put my suffering dog down and they make me bring him in just to tell me if it's going to be $200 or $800? Obviously this is a place to be avoided. Or they need fire their receptionist. more

Best Reception Staff!! 6/4/2009

I took my cat to Dr.Smith today and I was so impressed by the professionalism of the receptionist Debbie she couldn't have been sweeter!! Between the nurse and the Doctor overall I give them top rating!! Oreo and I will see you all soon more

Very Ugly on the phone 5/27/2009

I called to get a estimate to have my dog neutered. I told them how much he weighs and age. They wanted to set up a visit 1st of $52.00. I only needed a quote. These are hard times we are living in and money for most do not grow on trees. I guess for them it does. The lady on the phone said if this is about money I can refer you to someone else. Greed...they are rude and greedy!! I would not recommend them to anyone. I am from the old school, only kindness matters. They need lessons! more

Very expensive, all about Money 5/26/2009

took our dog to them twice. It was all about up-selling and making more money off of you. They wanted over $400 to give our dog is yearly shots, they said it included a return visit. Like they was selling a maintenance contract on a air conditioner. they get upset if you don't buy heart worm medicine from them at inflated price and refuse to give you a script. PET OWNER BEWARE, if you don't have deep pocket books, you will find most vets much cheaper then them, they are all about taking your money. She told us our dog had cancer, took it to a specialist in Sarasota, the dog had arthritis. more

Heron Creek Animal Hospital 3/2/2009

I started going to Heron Creek Animal hospital over a year ago with my long haired chihuahua, who is like a child to me.\r The care she received was very professional and caring. The office is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. I found their prices to be comparable or slightly lower than others in the area. The quality of service far exceeds any I've found in this area.\r I would not hesitate to recommend them and feel that my dog is in the very best hands there. I am sure I could bargain shop and find slightly cheaper, but not anyone better. I am a very satisfied customer. more

Great Vet 12/11/2008

I took my puppy Mia to Dr Gladeux for her vaccines and he couldn't have been nicer. The recepsonists were great offering me a soda pop and snack! Her nurse was so sweet and at the end of the day I couldn't be happier!! It's nice to find a vet that cares so much!! more

Sales harassment 10/22/2007

I asked my girlfriend to bring my dog to heron creek animal hospital to get him tested for heart worms & get a script for the medication. After finding out that we were not going to purchase the medication from them, they ruthlessly interrogating her about MY dogs previous shots, wormer, rabies certs, etc. The vet tried to hand her a bill for close to $300! She explained to them that we only brought the dog in for the test/script and she would bring up their recommendations with me later. This of course didn't sit well with them and they lost a up sell. To make matters worse, the employees gave her an attitude after they realized she wasn't going to spend any more money!\r \r No one wants to be subjected to up selling, but it is the normal routine with some businesses. It turns uncomfortable when a simple NO THANK YOU from the customer doesn't put a halt to the harassment to purchase more products/services.\r \r LOST SALE / LOST CUSTOMER / BAD PRESS ! more
