My fiancé and I had been in the market for a new mattress for a few months now. We've been wanting to make the switch to a king sized bed from our queen (to accommodate us and our pups) and once we received the sheet set and comforter for xmas, it was time to pull the trigger!\r \r Never buying a bed before, I wasn't sure where to start. I consider myself a thoughtful consumer and wondered...Weekends Only? Sears? Where? I did a google search and my fiancé said his mom got his last bed set from Slumberland and liked it, so to Slumberland we went!\r \r We went on a whim, on New Years day, around 7:30pm. First impressions, it is large! I love that they have a whole wing for beds as some other stores I've perused had only a few mattresses. \r \r When we entered the store, we were immediately greeted by Katie who guided us to the mattress wing after asking what we were looking for. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She asked that we try a few different mattresses to give her an idea of what kind of mattresses to show us. She really took her time and was thoughtful in her explanations. She was friendly and personable. She was happy to answer our questions and was patient as well.\r \r She also showed us bedroom sets and other kinds of furniture that we asked about along the way. If we asked a question she didn't know, she found it though she knew almost everything we asked about. I was very impressed. I can't say enough awesome things about her!\r \r When we finally were ready to check out (past closing time, I might mention which I felt bad about, but they in no way rushed us or made us feel bad), the process was friendly and smooth. Catherine, the store manager, was also around and couldn't be sweeter or more helpful.\r \r Pricing was reasonable and we got some good deals! They also have a financing plan that made getting our bedroom set and mattress possible. \r \r It's hard to find this stellar customer service, so I wanted to share! Slumberland has that elusive formula down and will be our first stop for our future furniture needs :-) more

PLEASE don't spend $1 at this store!!! My husband and I met a car hauler for delivery of a car for my teenager. We met on the side parking lot of TARGET, NOT on Slumberland's property. After a few minutes, an employee from Slumberland came out and asked the car hauler when he was moving his truck. The driver said it would be about 10 minutes. The employee, KYLE, said....and I QUOTE: ""that's what you said 10 minutes ago. Now get your sh_t and go!!"". Mind you, I had my 5 youngest (ages 3-11) with me and the window was rolled down because they were watching the car hauler. Let me just say I COMPLETELY lost it and dressed him up one side and down the other...without using flavorful language. I marched myself down to the store and asked to see the store manager, who was not in. I will be contacting her (Debra Snyder) and corporate. Not only was I furious that he used that language....but actually the degrading way he spoke to the guy made me much more upset. As I was yelling at him, he used the excuse that the truck was keeping shoppers from Costco and Target from seeing the name of the store. I took several photos from the stop signs at the intersection of Costco and Target, the TREES are blocking the name, not the truck. The guy told me to calm down (in a condescending voice I might add), which is the LAST thing you should say to me when YOU have done something wrong. I will be lighting up every review site about my experience. I can't stand rude people....especially when we weren't even on Slumberland's property!! more

Compare Tempur-pedic and Sleep Number type mattresses 2/23/2010

Slumberland is the only place that I could find in St. Louis that has the most popular premium mattresses in one place. We shopped all over St. Louis and it was very confusing. We bought at Slumberland because they seemed to be very trust worthy. We really enjoyed shopping once we found Slumberland. The adjustable bases are awesome. You should check out the Tempur-pedic Experience Room they have there. Check them out! Pros: have most brands at one location more

St. Louis Slumberland and Mattress Recommendation A+? 12/7/2009

We are very happy with our new Franklin Reclining Sofa and Comfy Raymond Chaise that Slumberland just delivered. You will not believe that the owner was actually on the delivery truck. We shopped all over St. Louis including the discount stores like Value City and JCPenney. Slumberland Furniture and Mattress was the best for value and style & selection. They had a great return policy and price guarantee, so I knew I could not make a mistake. I went on line and used their Room Planner to plan my space and get my dimensions and ideas for our new furniture. Slumberland is a 43-year-old business and I was impressed to learn that Slumberland Furniture & Mattress is a local franchise part of 117 stores. They told me they are the #1 La-Z-Boy Dealer, and a Sealy, and Simmons Dealer too. In addition, Slumberland is one of the top Tempurpedic dealers in the Midwest. They asked me to try the new Tempurpedic experience room that they were just awarded and I have to tell you I just keep dreaming about it. It is on my Christmas list! The sales team were happy and seamed as if they wanted to be there also impressed me; it was refreshing. They are all certified sleep experts. I would highly recommend you shop at Slumberland Furniture and Mattress in St. Louis, Missouri. The reason we were shopping for furniture was because my sofa was over 20 years old and my bed is old too. My back hurts and I was looking for pain relief. We tried the La-Z-Boy and really liked it, but decided to go with the Franklin reclining sofa with the hidden assets (fold down table) because it was a little more comfortable and had upper shoulder and back support. In addition, I was informed that if my mattress is five years or older it probably had doubled in weight from bed mites and could be the reason that I am sick a lot. Therefore, when I got home I did some research on Google and I was shocked what they told me was accurate. I cannot wait to get a Tempur-Pedic after experiencing it. To sum up my experience I really enjoyed shopping at Slumberland and Love our new Comfortable Microfiber Furniture! Pros: Best Furniture & Mattresses in town . . . Cons: No Store in Florissant, but it is worth the drive . . . more
