If you want to insure the safety of your child do not drop them off at Skate Haven on Peace Haven Rd. Last night in the low 20 degree weather the owner of Skate Haven had the audacity to tell minor children to get off his property without making sure that they had some place safe to go or were in the safe company of an adult. Not only did he kick them out of his establishment (out of the building), he demanded they get off his property (the parking lot) leaving the children to walk at 10 o'clock at night to find a place safe and warm until they could make arrangements to contact their parents. When I confronted the owner of putting the safety of children?s lives in jeopardy his excuse was that one child was horse playing in the rink and he decided to throw him out and when asked why he threw the other child out his excuse was ?because he was with the one horse playing?. When I confronted him of the fact that a total of five children left the building together?one being a little girl the age of 13 who was about four feet tall and looked as if she were eight years old, his excuse was ?I didn?t put those children out but they had to leave with their brother?the one being kicked out.? I also asked him why would he kick them out of the building in 20 degree weather late at night without making sure they were in the accompany of an adult and were at least safe-- it seemed as if I had to inform him that anything could have happened to the children?rape, murder, etc. he said ?they were boys.? What! I?m sickened by this man?s? actions. He literally kicked them off the property as if they were stray dogs. I?ve been to this place several times and that?s what children do, they play in the rink. Regardless of whether or not these children were or were not horse playing, whether they attempted to burn the place down there is no excuse for a grown man to be so inconsiderate and so malicious that he would jeopardize the safety of any child. He could have called the police to ensure the safety of the children instead of throwing them out into the cold with nowhere to go. I will never allow my child to go back to this place and neither should you! I am on fire?even 12 hours later!!!!! And that?s putting it delicately! more

My friends and I had been attending this skating rink all summer with our family and friends. The manager is very accomodating. Pros: Great place to skate Cons: Could imporve their music selection with more variety and update the snack bar more

It would be great if this business included hours of operation on answering machine message. I called many times to find out hours and just got a message that told location and sounded like it was cut off before the message was completed. that would be very helpful instead of people calling over and over to find out when the rink is open. more
