Oh where do I start. Don't ever let your kid on the team here. Yes they do produce some winning teams but at what price. The old Eastern European mentality is alive and well at Silvia's. The Dance instructor is very harsh! You are lucky if she just ignores your kid, usually she tears them apart both mentally and physically. If your child has an injury they are told they are lying and that they don't want to win bad enough and that they don't want to work hard. The coaches claim that all pain that kids have is purely mental and they just need to ""work through the pain"" ! Ask them how many girls in the last 4 years have had back fractures .... more than 10. Ask them how many of the level 10s ( highest level) are so disabled that it is unlikely that they will do gymnastics at the college level. Sure they have a couple of girls with full rides to college, but even they are all beat up. This is probably the toughest sport out there on the body but it can be done relatively safely if kids are treated right and doctors orders are followed. This absolutely is not the case here. If you value your child's physical and mental well being, don't let them on the team!!
