Expensive, but really good. This is definitely a restaurant to go to if you have a special occasion to celebrate or if you're eating on the company...

Silks is located on the 2nd floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the downtown district of San Francisco. Commitment to the freshest ingredients available & a superb service are the highest priority. Silks is well known for it's monthly wine dinners under the direction of wine director Nicole Kosta. The private dining-room, "The Gallery ", is conviniently located in the same location and is the perfect venue for a business meeting, a celebration or for one of our customized dinner partys. We are looking forward to impress you !
The SceneHidden on the second floor of the Financial District's Mandarin Hotel, Silks' dining room doesn't set out to dazzle. With beige wood-paneled walls and a subdued, formal decor, it's a serene refuge for wealthy travelers and businesspeople who want flawless yet unpretentious service and beautiful presentations. The FoodThe inventive, delicious Cal-Asian cuisine merits a wider audience than just guests of the hotel. Silks' salad with sake lemongrass-braised pears and Maytag blue cheese is a glorious combination of complementary flavors. Appetizers delight, including a duo of the freshest tuna and salmon tartare with wasabi caviar. A center-cut pork chop's apple and anise glaze seals in flavor and offers a subtle sweet note, with asiago polenta as a counterpoint. The kitchen's twist on cioppino--with Japanese dashi stock as its base--is loaded with perfectly cooked seafood.
