Silicon Valley Moving & Storage has moved our family 3 times in the past year (for a total of 5 days of moving). Totally reliable, very courteous, always on-time and always hard-working. Headed by Cheri & Joe, they do a fabulous job of putting together the best team for your move (not only did SVM&S do our moves, but they also did the packing of our boxes too). We've even had items in their storage facility for almost a year and not one broken item, nor scratch on our furniture, nor foul odor after the items have been returned. Would highly recommend!! I used them a few weekends ago for my move and found them to be very professional, timely, and fast (which in the moving game when you pay by the hour is very important). I got three guys to come out and move me at a great price. They were very careful with all of my things and didn't break or scratch anything. They wrapped all of my pictures in moving blankets and shrink wrapped everything else. I was very impressed and will recommend them to others. Thank you for the great job and professional service!! OMG!!! I wish I'd read Jacquie's review before hiring this company. I had no idea that this "Sheree" had been around for as long as she has and I can't believe it considering how poorly she treats her customers and how blatantly dishonest she is!!! I had no contact with her for the first 8-9 months that my possessions were in storage there. So once I was exposed to her, I thought she must be "new" since she was so hopelessly inept and useless in her position. Anyone even considering this company must read my very detailed account of my miserable experience on "Yelp", dated 8-1-2011, Patti M. In addition to what I wrote there, I forgot to mention that when my belongings were finally delivered to me, that about 1/4 of them were missing!!!! I tried waiting and being reasonable, since mistakes do occur, but after being ignored, rudely treated, and blown off for 2 weeks, I had to insist that they bring the rest of my things. Even so, it still took another 2 weeks and 2 days and THEN she wanted to charge me for the second delivery!!!!! Such a shame for the poor guys who do the REAL work and were just great from beginning to end. I hope they can all find a decent place to work and get away from this loser "manager". If there was a rating of "zero", I'd check that instead of "1". more

Cheri Childs is incompetent and unethical. Once she had my items in storage, she was very lazy about returning correspondence with me about getting those items back out of storage. I would make a plan, email and call her about it, the day of the move would come, I would then finally get a hold of her and she would tell me that that date wouldn't work for her. Cons: POOR ETHICS, OWNERS ARE INCOMPETENT!!!! more

Everything with the move was going exceedingly well until it came time to deliver my furniture. I was driving from the Bay area to L.A. the same day of delivery and I was approx 1-hour behind the delivery. The co-owner (Joe) called me on the phone while I was driving and proceeded to SCREAM and YELL at me for not being at the delivery location. I told him to calm down several times to no avail. Eventually, I told him I'd have to hang up or pull over to talk which would delay my arrival. The SCREAMING continued so I hung up, I didn't want to get a ticket. He called back again but refused to let me speak so I hung up again but not before he threatened to put my items in the nearest storage area if I or a roommate didn't open the door. I didn't buy this for a second, he legally could not do that. Not surprisingly the calls and the yelling continued until I just stopped answering the phone. The time off the phone did good because I called him 15 minutes before I arrived and he FINALLY calmed down. Cons: Horrible customer service more

I would highly recommend Silicon Valley Moving & Storage to anyone for there moving needs. Cheri from Silicon Valley Moving was very professional from the time of my initial call to the end of my move. Silicon Valley Moving was recommended by my friend who recently moved locally. I also moved locally from Los Gatos to Saratoga and had an awesome experience. The driver Joe and his crew cared for my property and carefully wrapped all of my belongings so that no items were damaged. Pros: Professional and Cared for My Belongings Cons: None more

I write because we have moved many times in the past and these guys are better than any company we have ever had. they completed the job in the estimated time and helped me pack dishes that I was late in getting to. I hired SV movers to move from an apt in San Jose to an apt in Sunnyvale on 9/11/2006. The terms of the contract were 3 movers at $130/hr. On the day of the move, 3 guys showed up, however after lunch, one of them bailed. I was not contacted by anyone so I had to call them myself. Without any explanation they told me that they could not send out anyone else and that I would now be billed for 2 movers at $90/hr. I explained to them that the move would now take much longer and it was quite clear that the job became much more tiring for just the two men left. This is when the owners became very beligerent and rude. I spoke with both Shiree and Joe (owners). While speaking with Joe, he was extremely condensending and at one point hung up on me. The owners became worried that I wouldn't pay because I was upset, so they called the movers on their cell phones and ordered them to stop working until they had an imprint of my credit card. Half of my stuff was still in the moving truck and I was in a very compromised state. I had to hand over my credit card for full payment before they would complete my move. At this point, the movers began stuffing boxes whereever they could find space in my new apt such that there was no organization to the way they were moving things in. Also upon unpacking I found many items had broken despite the painstaking process that my wife and I took to pack things with extreme care. The movers also lost some screws for attaching a mirror to my dresser. I had several phone conversations with the head office who treated me with contempt and utter rudeness. I demanded some sort of discount for their unwillingness to live up to the terms of the contract. They would not offer me any discount and charged me the same rate for the 2 person move that they had originally quoted me when I first had inquired about their pricing for 2 movers. I was utterly dissapointed that they did not live up to the terms of the contract, and how I was treated. Pros: None Cons: Too many to list. Worst Moving company EVER!!! more
