I really like how supportive and caring the entire staff is at Sherwood South Animal Hospital. They provide great facilities all around.

Everyone at Sherwood goes above and beyond. Dr. Stevens is usually the vet we see but when he's not available any of the other vets are just as great. It's a very loving and caring office and I feel comfortable bringing my pets here. more

Really great veterinarian. The facility is beautiful and top of the line. My dog gets the best treatment here and we wouldn't go anywhere else. more

Amazing Staff 3/30/2012

The staff at Sherwood South Animal Hospital is so incredibly wonderful. We cannot thank them enough for the compassion and care they have given our dogs. One time, I had a dog that was dying, and I went over to the Hospital to see her. Swami Rubio was on her way out the door, but she went back to let me into the courtyard so that I could let my dog outside and spend some time with her. Things like that make a huge difference to me, and is the reason we will stay there as long as we have pets. Highly recommended! more

MONEY IS THE FOCUS!! 12/6/2011

I wish that I could recommend this facility, but I cannot. In late October of this year I had an emergency situation with one of my female Shih Tzu. She was in labor and looked like she was going to need an emergency cesarean section. It was nearing midnight on a Saturday night, so my only options were emergency vet facilities. When I called Sherwood South, I was informed that I could bring her in, but that the procedure would be $1800.00 and that I would have to pay 1/2 up front and the other half when I picked her up the following morning. Not having all of the $1800.00 handy, I asked if they would just turn her away and let her die. I was informed that they didn't want her to die, but if I didn't have the money that they could not provide services. In my opinion, this is a perfect example of a facility were $$$, rather than the best interest of the animals, is the driving force. The good news is that I found a wonderful facility that didn't even ASK about money up front. They just took her in, performed the section, and worried about the money afterward . . . And the total cost was approximately half of what Sherwood South quoted. I would have given this place ZERO stars, but that wasn't an option. more

Great Drs and Clinic 11/30/2010

My family and I love this clinic! Dr. West is our favorite, but all of the vets at this clinic are nice to us and our pets. They take very good care of our pets when they have problems and referred them to LSU when necessary. (We haven't had to use the new ER yet and hope it stays that way, but we would not hesitate...) The staff is very friendly and helpful. The doctors keep up with the latest in vet care, and inform you of new breakthroughs in vet med to help your pets. We have also used the boarding facilities and were very satisfied. I drive from out of town to come to this clinic because I feel it is worth it. I had left a vet that I had used for at least 10 years because of several different issues, then tried another one for a couple of years and was not happy with him either. He was cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for. Then my daughter started using Sherwood South and liked them, so I switched. I?m not sure how their prices compare to other vets in the area, but I feel they are reasonable. The quality care in a high quality facility is worth the price and the drive! We want the best for our babies! more

The Best Baton Rouge Has To Offer 11/18/2010

This is the third vet clinic I have tried in the area. I wish I had tried Sherwood South first! Dr. Stevens was the most personable and knowledgeable doctor I have ever been to, and I have lived in 5 states. I read the other negative reviews but I went anyway because they were so close to my house. I don't know if the people who left those reviews we on crazy meds themselves, but everything I experienced with my pet was the best that we have ever received. -- Even better than my personal doctor-- My dog had to have an endoscopy procedure because, HE ATE MY DIAMOND WEDDING RING!!! They were able to go in and get it without surgery. I would have paid $15,000 to get my ring back. I will going back and sending everyone I know there!!!! more

Avoid at all costs 7/24/2010

I have had two experiences with this vet. I thought the prices were out of line the first time but I needed a vet quick so I used them again. I was of course charges almost two times the quoted rate when I picked up the cats. In addition the cats were obviously left sitting in their cat carriers all night as they were saturated with their own urine and feces when I picked them up. I ill never bring any living creature to this place again. Pros: Pretty building Cons: Poor care of animals , massive overcharging more

Stay Clear 4/27/2009

Warning!!!! Money hungry vultures, they will over charge you and find ways to make you spend far more money than necessary. Do not take your pet there. They spent too much money on there facilities so they pass on the expense to you, sad. Pros: Smiley Exterior Cons: They are after your money, bottom line. more
