Shark City has lots of pool tables and dart boards, as well as a couple of shuffleboard games. It's a fun place to go after work for a couple of beers with co-workers, but I woul...

Well Shark City never disappoints! They have a large beer selection, very good burgers, and many afternoons free pool. If you are a Blackhawks fan(and who isn't) watching a game here is great! Big screens, good beer specials and pleasant staff.\r So whether it's lunch or a Hawks game you cannot go wrong stopping by Shark City more

I was invited to go see my cousin's band play, otherwise I would have never heard of Shark City or had any reason to trek out to Glendale Heights.\r \r I must say I was pretty impressed. The place is huge. The main bar is somewhat separated from the stage area for those who don't want loud music blasting on them. They also have pool tables and a bean bag toss game.\r \r The food is decent...basic bar fare. One person in our party did not like her drink. The server comped it off the bill and brought something else without confrontation or drama.\r \r I have to comment that the light & sound system as well as the stage are awesome! Shark City is not a dive bar where they move a few tables to make room for the band. They have a very professional purpose-built soundstage that makes the entertainment experience so much better. It made the $10 cover charge seem not so bad.\r \r I wish Shark City was a little closer to home. If it was, I'd would definitely make it a regular stop. more

I came here with a few others yesterday to watch some March Madness games, and had a good time. The food was standard bar food, and it was pretty good. No standouts among the things we ordered, but it was all still very good.\r \r I would have been happy with a broader beer selection, but I'm sort of picky when it comes to that.\r \r Overall, the place is huge, and with an OTB in house, and dozens of TVs, it's a great spot to do what I did, and watch sports for a few hours. \r more

I've been here a couple of times and both times I had a pretty good time. There is a pretty huge outside area where you can chill. There are pool tables, a lot of couches and tables and they even recently added an OTB.\r I have not seen a show but there was a DJ there once. I think they charge cover sometimes but they also give coupons to get free cover. This may have changed though, this is from my experience a few years ago.\r Overall, it's a decent place to hang out, watch some games, and pretty busy on the weekends.\r I stopped by recently during a poker run and it was a nice stop to just relax before we went to our final spot at Four Lakes. \r more

This place is huge! I don't think I've ever seen a billiards hall this large. They seem to divide the place into four separate areas. The first is for pool. Tables are 7"" and 9"". The game area also has bean bags, hoops and darts. The second area appeared to be your typical bar. The middle, third section, was the outdoor smoking patio and the fourth area just had more drinking sections.\r \r I've heard the atmosphere depends on what day you come. It was Thursday and become more packed as the night progressed, but never became chaotic. I think our waitress was set on getting up drunk. She came by every few minutes to see if we needed drinks. Domestic bottles were only $1 and each game of pool was $1. Not too bad to just pass the time. more

Went to see a band recently & I really liked the place!\r It was not very crowded so I can't review it based on if it was.\r It's real big inside\r It had several pool table, dart boards & bags-it even has OTB\r The stage area was nice & sound system sound great to me\r The drink specials seemed average & not overpriced \r The outdoor area was a decent size with decent bar & seating & they had karaoke going on\r Overall I liked it & I'd go back especially if they had a good band\r more

One thing I noticed last night that I didn't notice before -- more young, scantily-clad waitresses. I think the bar is trying to cater to a younger crowd now, although there were still plenty of mid-age patrons there for the Led Zeppelin cover band (which rocked, by the way). The drinks were great, though. We were actually there with a $15 wristband all-you-can-drink for three hours deal -- all my friends took advantage of that (I drove, so I didn't drink) and they had a great time! I'm glad Shark City is still a good place to go for a sports bar/Saturday night cover band scene. more
