I was new to Austin last year and was lucky enough to find shanna on the internet. She is by far the best colorist and stylist I've ever had (and there has been a long line of them!) my color is perfect! Her prices are reasonable and it's always a fun experience at the salon!! I regularly buy Kerastase shampoo and conditioner. They are must buys! more

I've been a client of Shanna's for about 6 years. Her cuts always look terrific. She started coloring my hair about 3 years ago, and it looks so natural that most of my friends don't even realize that I have my hair colored! Empire Salon sells Kerastase products, and I have slowly added different ones into daily use. I think they help my hair look good. Shanna knows what she is doing and I highly recommend her. more

Shanna is awesome! I have been going to her for about 5 years. Her color is spot on. I go for natural color and it always looks great. I have naturally wavy/curly hair that I wear both straight and curly. Her cuts make it look good both ways, and she has curly hair so she knows what she is doing. Shanna has been cutting & coloring my hair every 6 weeks for over 3+ years. That's a lot of cuts & color. She's professional, knowledgeable, listens & makes suggestions when I'm not liking my hair. (I found Shanna thru an online source after my former stylist stopped listening to what I would like & continued to give me the same haircut.) Empire Salon (formerly Steven Todd at this location) carries Keratase products. Shanna uses these products on my hair and while they are a high end product, I've never had a hard sell ""you have to buy"" this. I use the curly hair products & they are fabulous. If you have curly hair, I highly recommend Shanna. Another great thing about Shanna is she is very efficient with her time. I'm in & out in no time and I leave with great looking hair. more

I first found Shanna in 1995 when I needed help with my wedding hair. Since then she has helped me through pregnancy hair, short hair phases, long hair phases, curly , straight...you name it! And finally, when it came time to needing color, I never even hesitated to let Shanna work her magic. Shanna is not only a FANTASTIC stylist, she is also a fantastic person. ... Oh, one more thing... In almost 20 years, I can't remember ever having to wait. She takes her client's time seriously an that is rare in and of itself. Treat yourself to a great cut/color and you''ll be hooked too! more

A ""thumbs up"" is just not enough to express my sincere satisfaction with Shanna. I found her on citysearch last week after I came home from El Paso. The home of my stylist, of whom I have been committed to for the past 8yrs. The only time I ever colored my hair was with him. I stuck with my first. :) This last visit, I went to him and requested an Ombre style color. I SHOWED an example of my expectations. After 4 hrs in his salon, my hair survived being stripped,bleached,colored and cut. I left him with a broken heart and as an unsatisfied customer. My new spring style was not at all what I expected. It was ruined. After I came back home, I googled ""color specialist in Austin""...Shanna was listed more than once and I called her. SHE SAVED MY HAIR!! I was able to take pics of my hairstyle and sent them to her via text. She was very prompt in her response to scheduling me. I am extremely satisfied with her coloring/cut skills. I have received so many wonderful compliments on my new hairstyle. As a reparative color recipient, Shanna applied the line of Kerastase products to restore health back to my damaged hair. I purchased the products to maintain the regimen. I have zero regrets. Shanna has gained a new client. She was so wonderful at helping me to feel comfortable. My hair is sooooo important to me that I waited 8yrs to color it again. To come out of this bad experience with a beautiful color, cut and style is nothing short of an answered prayer. more

I found Shanna by searching for 'hair color specialist'. My current hairstylist had given me lopsided, gothic black hair and I didn't trust her to fix it. After seeing all the impressive reviews for Shanna, I decided to book with her. At my appointment, she was very straightforward about what to expect with my hair. She was able to lighten it by a couple of shades, which made all the difference. She also cut my hair and was able to take out a lot of weight from the 'shelf' of hair I always had from my other stylist. I am so glad I've found Shanna and I highly recommend her, she knows hair. more

Shanna is fabulous! 2/22/2012

For the past year I have been to more than 3 people trying to find someone as good as my old stylist.. 4th times a charm.. Shanna did a amazing job! I naturally have crazy thick and curly hair and and she did a spectaular job with it! The cut is great for my type of hair, I wanted highlights that looked natural and they absolutely do! I will be going to Shanna from now on! She knows what she's doing and she does it well! Thank you Shanna! more

EXPERT HAIRCARE! 1/5/2012

I moved to Austin in March 2010. Tried a few stylist and got a few really bad haircuts. A friend referred me to Shanna. THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!! Shanna is so knowledgeable about hair types and what will and will not work! My fine wavy hair is in better condition now at forty- something than it was in my 20's! My highlights look so natural! The style is easy to manage if I want it wavy or straight! Either way I choose to style my hair it feels like silk!!! Shanna knows products and what to use for any problem hair type!!!!! I am thankful I found such an expert!!!! If you need a stylist or are tired of just getting an average cut or color then CALL SHANNA! She is GREAT!!!!!!!! more

Great colorist and extension advice 12/15/2011

Shanna is amazing with color and extensions. She repaired my brassy color mistake and gave me a beautiful color so close to my natural color. She also took out a BAD set of extensions from another stylist and advised me on the correct color and number of extensions to put in. Best of all, she is honest and fast! She removed all my extensions and did hair color in under 3 hours!!! I now have a new stylist!! I can't say enough good things about her. more

Shanna's Amazing Hair Care and Repair 12/13/2011

Shanna does amazing hair! My last hairstylist butchered my long and naturally curly hair and Shanna has put it back together to make it look beautiful again. The keratin protein treatment was wonderful for repairing my frizzy, curly hair, along with a lovely trim which took care of the split ends and framed my face. The protein treatment straightened my hair as a side effect, which makes it much easier to handle, and has significantly cut down on the time it takes to dry. The black color didn't make my shower turn colors and covered the emerging gray. Shanna can make a head of unruly natural curls and fading color look beautiful and manageable. I can honestly say that this is the best hair I've ever had. more

Shanna Arciniaga is incredible. She colored my teenagers hair...that had multiple colors from brown to blonde... And created a beautiful color palette that complements her skin tone and attitude. I'trust Shanna. I recommend her highly. more

Shanna works magic!!! I trust her totally with my hair. On my first visit, several years ago now, she took the time to talk with me a bit to learn more about my lifestyle and preferences before starting to work on my hair. I asked her, ""OK, if you had this hair and this face and coloring, what would you do with this head of hair."" I have extremely fine hair, and she makes it look like I have the fullest hair I could possibly want. I always get complements on what she has done. People are always asking who does my hair. I can't say enough good things about the quality of Shanna's work. If you're looking for a new hair dresser, I would highly recommend her. more

Step 1 to saving your hair: Go to Shanna 10/5/2011

I moved to Austin in March 2011 and ventured to a salon in April (which shall remain unnamed, but it's located on South Congress and is very flashy, and is next to a yogurt shop). After they butchered my hair (literally, the bangs were so thick and messed up I looked like I had a glorified mullet!), I searched around for a new hairstylist and asked friends for recommendations. Why I didn't do that in the first place is beyond me - I could've gone straight to Shanna and avoided the mullet! She quickly went to work fixing the old cut, and giving my locks a new life. In the process she mentioned to me that while I thought my hair was wavy, it was actually curly - and showed me ways I could work the natural curl to have multiple hairstyles: straight (with a flat iron), wavy with a dryer, curly with a defuser, etc. The cut she gave me not only brings out my natural curl, it looks AMAZING when straightened. Highly recommend Shanna to anyone looking for an honest and great stylist. more

I recently move to Austin from Indiana and I found Shanna here and liked her reviews. And I review alot of hair stylist's before I chose Shanna. I would highly recommend her for color and cut. I have been going to her for over two years and have never researched another stylist since I been here. I recieve alot of compliments on my hair, for the color, shine and style. more
