my wife and i have been going to senior rics for nearly 12 years now and always have been treated really nice there. We have always felt welcome and have enjoyed some of the best mexican food in the denver area. service has always been great and prices are great for the amount of food you get per plate. just got back tonight from there and everything was great. there is a reason senior rics has been in the auora area for so long. Great food and service. Thank you more

Terrible service from the waiter. I have been here 2 times before and had bad service from this server and let it go. He was ignorant to my table repeatedly through the night. I told the owner about this server and our experience. He was ignorant too and just gave me a fake apology and hung up. Don't waste your time here. It's not worth the aggravation. more

I HAD JUST ORDERED LUNCH FOR MYSELF AND 5 OF MY WORK ASSOCIATES. I WILL BE VERY HONEST, THE YOUNG GAL (HOSTESS) WHO TOOK MY ORDER DID A REMARKABLE JOB. WE HAD ALOT OF SPECIAL ORDERS AND ADDS. My parents and I have been going to Senor Ric's since they first opened in 1986 and immediately fell in love with it. The food is exceptional, the service is friendly and outstanding, and the atmosphere is comfortable. Portions are huge - we always ending up taking food home. Prices are very reasonable - dinner for 3 with drinks is usually under $50 even with tax and tip. We have tried almost everything on the menu, and our favorites that we always come back to are the Pollo Magnifico, Ric's Platter, Ric's Chimichanga, Spinach Enchiladas, the fajita platter, shredded beef tacos, and any of the combination platters. All meals come with unlimited free chips and salsa. The margaritas are awesome! If you like spicy food, order the Pork Green Chili - it's like eating fire! more

This used to be my favorite place to eat. Not anymore. Took my mom for lunch recently on two occasions. Salsa has no taste to it. Drinks come with big chunks of ice in it, can hardly drink them. First time I got burned because I was not told the plate was scorching hot. Second visit, still no warning but I had learned my lesson there. Food was cold, waiter NEVER made it back around to the table, to the point that we could have walked out. We had to pay at the lobby and they didnt even seem concerned with taking our money. Wont be taking my family here ever again. more

Went to Senor Ric's for lunch with coworkers. Was told in advance that the food was excellent, and was excited after reading the reviews. However, the food left much to be desired. The food was too salty. The refried beans tasted strange--bland with a strange aftertaste. The rice was extremely salty and tasted like it had been reheated from the night before. I left feeling sick to my stomach.\r \r Next time my coworkers suggest a lunchtime treat at Senor Rics I will definitely pass. Cons: Food too salty more

An old friend of ours stopped by to see our new house this afternoon. After hanging out for a while, we decided to get something to eat. The 3 of us piled into the car and started driving down Mississippi. My boyfriend and I had passed Senor Ric's a few times and had mentioned wanting to try it (being the fans of Mexican cuisine that we are) and our friend was in, so Senor Ric's it was!\r \r We were promptly seated in a tall booth that made me feel like queen of the jungle restaurant. The decor was filled with plants, dimly lit and pretty darn cool. I liked the atmosphere. Chips & salsa were brought to us immediately, bonus! However, their salsa was meh... I've had better. We happened to venture in during happy hour so we indulged. Their basic margarita was pretty freakin' good for a basic bottom shelf drink! This was by far the high point of the evening. The chimichangas were the Tuesday night special, so that's what I got. We waited a long time for food. They weren't that busy and my boyfriend and I were enjoying our conversation with our friend so it wasn't a big deal, but it should be noted that it took too long to feed us.\r \r Now, for the food. I have to give it a big fat MEH! The black beans tasted weird, the chili wasn't very good and the chimichanga was soggy & not crispy at all. The chicken tasted good. Mostly moist, but a few dry spots. Overall, the food did not impress me. Mexican is one of my favorites! I was disappointed.\r \r The service was A+! The young man (he had to have been in high school still) was very good. The busser even brought us more chips & salsa before we completely ran out and was quick on the draw with the water / iced tea refills! Nice job on the service, Senor Ric's!\r \r I wouldn't mind going back for happy hour for another margarita or two, but to actually eat a meal? Probably not. We have been eating there for over ten years and have never had a bad meal. The Pollo Magnifico is great and the spanish rice is the best. Great service and lots of seating and some of the staff has been there as long as we have been eating there. I just wish they would bring back the Mariachi band. I have been going to Senor Ric's for about fifteen years. I always take friends there and we order the fajita platter. We have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. It is great! more

THEY'RE FOOD IS AWESOME!! WE LOVE THE SENIOR RIC'S PLATTER AND MY FAVORITE EL POILLIO MAGNIFICO! GOOD SALSA AND CHIPS AND LOTS OF IT FOR FREE. THERE SERVICE IS ALMOST ALWAYS FLAWLESS AND QUICK ON GETTING WHAT U NEED. THEY ALSO HAVE GREAT PRICES. OH AND THERE TACOS ARE AWESOME TOO. THE ONLY DOWNFALL IS THERE PORTIONS ARE HUGE, BUT HEY MORE FOR LATER RIGHT?? OH AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT THERE HAPPY HOURS TWO BEERS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE! I work just around the corner from Senor Rics so business lunches are great. Fast friendly service they will refill your chip and salsa bowl two or three times. So when I took my husband in the evening for dinner he was just as impressed we had two meals, he had two margaritas, I had a glass of sangeria and our bill was under $30. It was two for one drink special that night but still that was a great price. I also loved the new fried chili relano. I am ordering take home tonight. more

I've been here several times, and am going again for my birthday dinner. While it's not the absolute best Mexican food I've ever had, it is excellent. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is good for groups and families, or you can sit in one of the back rooms for more privacy. All in all, definately one of my favorites! The food is average at best! The green chile has not hotness (or spicyness as some of you like to say) to it, the beans have a somewhat 'gluey' consistency, and yes, the margaritas are weak. The best dish at Ric's (I've been there a dozen times only because my son's friends work there) and the only dish I order anymore is the fish tacos. They are absolutely delicious...although a bit pricey at( $9.25). The service is phenomenal, too! If you decide to head on out there, please, order the fish tacos! You won't be disappointed! more

I tried Senor Rics after reading the reviews on this cite. After the experience, I am convinced that the reviews must have been written by Senor Ric employees. My experiences (2 - I bravely went back a second time thinking the first was a fluke) were quite different than what was reported by others. On the positive side, yes, there is free chips and salsa (much the same as you get anywhere else). I found the Margaritas awful (tasted watered down) and I became ill after both times eating there. The first time I had quesadillas (don't have a clue how to spell it) and the second time I tried the sampler platter that was commented on by another reviewer. The food was bland, greassy, and actually made me sick to my stomach. I love mexican food, but would pass at the opportunity to return to Senor Rics in the future... more

This place serves great Mexican food!!!! And the Margaritas are the BEST in the STATE!!!! You won't find better service anywhere either. I have been going to this restaurant weekly for the last 16 years and have never had a bad experience. A must place to go!!! Pros: The Ric's platter is always a great choice. Family friendly and inexpensive mexican food. There are tons of authentic mexican restaurants in Aurora, but I prefer the bold flavors of tex-mex. I tried the Senior Ric's Sampler platter and wow! The pork green chili is awesome and has great kick. Everything else tasted great - the mini tacos, pollo magnifico, mini flautas, etc. Service was superior - hard to find sometimes in the metro. The atmosphere is not overly romantic, but is definitely great for large groups and for families. They would probably find you a more private spot if you requested it. We will definitely go back. This place is great! Unlimited chips and salsa in the bar area, great margaritas, superb guacamole, and excellent service all at a great price.
