Amazing program. They do so much-check it out! So much more than food and shelter. They help people rebuild their lives! They have programs for addiction, domestic violence, transitional housing, search and rescue vans that go out and bring people in from the cold or give them supplies if they don't want to go to the shelter, they provide dental services, legal services-they walk by a person and support them the whole time they are in the program. There is more than I can mention here. more

Great Staff 8/15/2006

The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. It's a great place to volunteer and I took a group of students to serve there and sponsor a pizza/movie night for the women and children. Everyone loved it! more

By providing 24/7, 360-degree support services for homeless people in King County, we seek to be a consistent friend to those who are isolated and in need. We go where people live, listen to their stories, and regularly connect with each person to provide emergency care and invite them into our recovery programs. Seattle's Union Gospel Mission started in 1932 to feed and care for those suffering from the Great Depression. From a simple, borrowed soup kettle, we now serve and care for thousands of homeless and hurting people each day throughout King County. Motivated by our Christian faith, the Mission provides extensive 360-degree support and recovery services for homeless men, women, and children throughout King County. For more than 85 years and as God allows us to continue, we are King County's first response for homelessness.
